World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day last Thursday and it
certainly was an exciting day! From Gangsta Granny to
Mary Poppins, we had a great variety of characters turn
up! Even the teachers made a superb effort in dressing up.
The best dressed characters from each class were given a
special treat the following day when they went to
Waterstones bookstore and were given the chance to
choose any book they liked. The winners of the best
dressed competition were:

Comic Relief
It was a great turnout for Comic Relief
today. We had lots of children come in
wearing their red clothes today and
showing off their red noses. Thank you to
all your contributions! We will keep you
updated on how much was raised in the
next newsletter.
Collection for Mrs Jane Annett
Thank you to all the staff and parents who
donated towards the ‘John Taylor Hospice’ in
memory of our colleague Jane Annett who sadly
passed away last month. We managed to donate
£280 in her name.

New Ward Classifications—Birchfield
Last year the new ward boundaries for our local area were drawn up. One point that came to our attention
was that the school is now located in the new ‘Birchfield’ ward. There are regular Ward Forum meetings
where residents can raise issues of concern. These are attended by Councillor Mahmood Hussain. The
next Ward Forum meeting is on Wednesday 20th March at Grosvenor Road Studios, 16 Grosvenor
Road, Handsworth B20 3NP. Parents would be very welcome to attend. Please look over the page for the
new ward boundaries.
