THE INTENT OF THIS RESTORATION PROJECT IS TO:

A. REMOVE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS;B. REPAIR SLATE ROOFING AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS; C. REPLACE FLAT ROOFING ASSEMBLIES WITH NEW EPDM;D. REPLACE ALL ASSOCIATED COPPER ROOF AND MASONRY FLASHINGS IN-KIND; E. REPLACE COOPER GUTTERS IN-KIND;F. REPOINT AND REBUILD STONE AND BRICK MASONRY AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS; G. REPAIR WOOD LOUVERS; CLAD IN COPPER WHERE NOTEDH. PAINT EXTERIOR CORNICES;

A. ADD ALTERNATE #1: AT WOOD FRAMED STEEPLE SPIRE, REMOVE AND PROVIDE NEW DIAMOND SLATE ONTO NEW UNDERLAYMENT’S AND WOOD DECKING, PROVIDE NEW MODIFIED BITUMEN UNDERLAYMENT OVER ENTIRE ROOF AREA AND INSTALL NEW SLATE SHINGLES TO MATCH ORIGINAL IN SIZE, THICKNESS, EXPOSURE AND PATTERN. REMOVE EXISTING AND PROVIDE NEW STEP, PARAPET AND CRICKET FLASHING AT JUNCTURE OF SLATE ROOF WALLS & PARAPETS. WEDGE AND FULLY MORTAR FLASHING INTO THE MASONRY CONSTRUCTION. THE COVERAGE OF THE FLASHING IS TO MATCH THE EXISTING INSTALLATION.

REMOVE EXIST. GUTTER AND HANGERS AND FLASHING WHERE SHOWN ON DETAILS. PROVIDE NEW 16OZ. COPPER GUTTER AND OUTSIDE HANGERS ANDFLASHING AS DETAILED. GRADE NEW GUTTER TO EXISTING DOWNSPOUTS AS REQUIRED (1/8"/FT. MIN.) CONNECT TO EXIST. DOWNSPOUTS AND PROVIDE NEW WIRE BASKETS AT EACH LOCATION.

CAREFULLY REMOVE EXISTING FIRE SUPPRESSION GLASS & LIQUID-FILLED GLOBES IN MASONRY STEEPLE & WOOD-FRAMED SPIRE PRIOR TO RESTORATIVE WORK. ALL BULBS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS FRAGILE & DANGEROUS. AS SUCH, HANDLE W/ EXTREME CAUTION & CARE. REINSTALL ONLY AFTER COMPLETION OF ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY.
