West Virginia
I had been in the car for eight hours, sitting in the backseat with my brother, listening to
countless country songs. Then, finally the hotel was in sight! Finally I could get out of the car
and breathe fresh air!
First, we had to unpack our necessities and clean ourselves up in the bathroom. Then,
suddenly it was time for dinner. Being in the car without any real food had made us long for
good food. When we got there something caught my eye. There were so many artifacts on
display, arrowheads, and rocks the Indians had used. It was so cool! Every night before dinner I
would go there and just look at them.
Later on, during the trip my dad and I went horseback riding. The first thing we had to do
was pay. Then came the fun part, I got to out the horse I wanted to ride! We looked at all
different horses, but my favorite one was a beautiful red and brown color. It had light brown hair,
and was so funny; he even tried to eat my dad’s watch! Finally when it was time to start the ride,
(after they taught us how to steer) we rode on a trail through the woods. This was my favorite
part of the trip!
My second favorite part of the trip w2as riding the tram. We started and rode down to the
bottom, it was so scary! But, when I looked down it was beautiful! There were so many trees and
sometimes you could see deer eating the grass. When we finally got to the bottom, we went in
the gift shop. I saw all types of cool things, but I decided on getting a real arrowhead! Before we
went back to the top we went to the river, which had thousands of rocks! My brother and I each
took one and we still have them on our front porch!

We did many other things during our trip; we saw my mom’s old school and the house
where she used to live. We also meet my Great Aunt Ruby! My trip to West Virginia was one I
won’t forget!
