providing clear access to all the inhabitants of communications.

have a Mango Plantation. Then estimate has been prepared in consultation with the Horticulture and

the said work taken up.

Description of work :- The road to communicate between this two

habitations,were in very bad condition and it needed development. This year,it was in the action plan

of the Panchayat to take-up this project. Accordingly, estimate has been prepared to take –up this

work.Job card holders of this habitation took part in the work and is has been completed successfully.

Description of the project :- Previously there was a large unused land at the habitation of concern

Panchayat,which could be taken as an important part of village cultivation.Accordingly,it has been added in the action plan,prepared estimate by concerned Engineer and required steps have been taken to develop the

hilly tracks.A number of Poor villagers got engaged through this project and make the land fertile and widely

usable for agricultural purpose for the beneficiary as mentioned above.

Para under East Jarulbachai ADC Village had only kutcha toilet, which he, along with his family

members had been using since time immemorial. He has 6 (six) nos. of members in his family along

with a child. This year, after survey, it appeared that the family of Sri Budhurai Debbarma needs an

Individual House Hold Latrine, which is hygienic. So, an IHHL allotted to him and the work has been

executed, in which, Sri Budhurai Debbarma also came forward and made expenditure from his own

pocket to make it more viable.

Project Details:- Under Lefunga RD Block ADC Village wise several works have been done under

MGNREGA in the year 2015-16 for up-liftman livelihood of village inhabitants as per the guideline.

Under Rajghat ADC Village re-excavation of pond in the Land of Goutam Debbarma, Ward No. -II.

has been excavated with cost `65,520/-. The work has successfully been completed & now is under

use for irrigation/ fishery purpose. The beneficiary earns satisfactorily by fish-culture for maintaining

lively hood.

Project Details:- Baishak Debbarma is a poor man was interested in rubber plantation and taken up

the project for New Raising Rubber Plantation from the TTAADC, Sub-Zdo, Abhicharan within a

land area 1(one) acre. Accordingly under MGNREGA he has provided `55,000/- for New Raising

Rubber Plantation with technical guidance from the concern department. For upliftment of livelihood

such project was very much helpful to Sri Debbarma individually as well as for his family.

farming and taken up the project for Plantation of Mulberry trees and growing up of cocoon as

offered from the Sericulture department within a land area 0.4 acres. Accordingly under

MGNREGA convergence she has provided `21,854/- for plantation purpose with technical

guidance from the concern department. Department also provide rearing house and rearing

appliances. For uplipment of livelihood such project was very much helpful to Smt. Debbarma

individually as well as for her family.



Hezamara RD Block

Total Project Cost : Rs. 0.352 lakhs

Total Mandays Generated : 220 Nos.

Benefit accrued to community: Ground water level is constantly depleting in Hezamara Block area due to

scanty rainfall during the last couple of years. As a result, people are facing numerous problems. During 2015-

16 repairing ponds constructed and traditional water bodies renovated. This initiative would help in harvesting and conservation of rain water in a major way. It has also created a scope of income generation through fishery

activities.

Convergence with other scheme: It has brought about convergence with Fishery Department.



Bamutia RD Block

help of Fishery Department on convergence mode.

Mohanpur. Public have so happy to got the new formation of road.

planted in the deferent road side & as a result, environment of the

locality to be pollution free. Total 72 to 80 families regularly working

in the nursery bed & work done through convergence mode under

Forest Department.

Mandwi RD Block

TEA PLANTATION

Intervention of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in convergence of Special Plan Assistance

(SPA) with Tribal Welfare Department on creation of Tea Plantation in Mandwi RD Block of West Tripura has greatly

influenced the production of Tea in Tripura. The JibanSarder Para‟ „Saraldas Para‟ „KasamKobraPara„MahimSarder Para‟

Bashi Chandra Para‟`„ADC Colony Para‟ habitations of the Kathiram Bari ADC village under the Mandwi R.D.Block of

West Tripura are mostly inhabited by socially and economically backward Scheduled Tribes people. All the families

residing in the area are below poverty line; and since their principal means of livelihood is daily wage earnings, they

virtually have had no assured or sustainable source of income before introduction of MGNREGA Schemes, more so

during rainy seasons. It was in this context that the Kathiram Bari ADC village had conceived of undertaking suitable

income generating projects under MGNREGA, targeted to broaden economic base of the households in the area in a

phased manner.



BAMBOO PLANTATION AT HAREPHA PARA

Tripura, located on the extreme corner of the Indian subcontinent. The socio-economical status of these people is not so

standard. Most of the people in this state maintain their livelihood on agriculture and forest. There are “Jhumias” and

other Tribal living in the remote areas with poor economical background. A good number of people have no land for

agriculture, and some of them are not having homestead. Considering the practical situation of such Homeless & landless

people, the Government of Tripura has taken initiative to provide a minimum quantum of land to such people and to

arrange allocation of IAY houses to such beneficiaries.In Kathirambari ADC village under Mandwi RD Block of West Tripura has a 30 landless & homeless families as per field exercise conducted on behalf of the Revenue

Administration,Govt of Tripura with the help of local Panchayat. The list was placed before the Gram Sabha & Gram

Sabha was approved. The District Administration had allocated 110 Houses under Tripura State Government Housing

Scheme during 2015-16 in addition to 225 Houses under IAY Scheme. The Block Administration thereafter, allocated 10

Houses under Tripura State Government Housing Scheme to 10 landless & homeless families for rehabilitation after

proper identification of Government Khas land. The residual 20 families to be rehabilitated in phase manner during the

next Financial Year. „Harepha‟ habitation was established in the middle of May,2015 for rehabilitation of 30 Landless &

Homeless families.

10 Hac Bamboo Plantation: In order to provide livelihood in addition to Shelter House, 10 Hac Bamboo Plantation was created for 10 Nos Landless & Homeless families in convergence of MGNREGA with National Bamboo

Mission during 2015-16 against utilisation of Rs.10.9960 Lakhs. Diminishing resources and availability of

forest wood and conservation concerns have highlighted the need to identify substitutes for traditional timbers.

It is in this context bamboo assumes special significance. Bamboo is a versatile, strong, renewable and environment-friendly material. It is a member of the grass family, Gramineae and the fastest growing woody

plant on earth. Most bamboo species produce mature fibre in 3 years, sooner than any tree species. Some

bamboos grow up to 1 metre a day, with many reaching culm lengths of 25 metres or more. Bamboo can be grown quickly and easily, and sustainably harvested in 3 to 5 years cycles. It grows on marginal and degraded

land, elevated ground, along field bunds and river banks.
