Born, Cumberland County, Maryland, October 15, 1763. Enlisted, Monongalia County, Virginia, June 10, 1777, and served nine months as private and Indian spy under Captains Neal, Ferrell, and Colonels Martin and Clark. Received pension, December 1 1, 1833, Monongalia County, but was dropped from the rolls later.

Enlisted in Frederick Town, Maryland, in 1776, and there received discharge, 1782, after six years service with the Maryland German Regi­ment, Continental Service, under Captain Boger (or Boyer) and Colonel Hausegger. Received pension in Harrison County, March 11, 1819. His wife was aged 50 in 1822 and their children's names and ages follow: Abner, 14; Nancy, 11; Peggy, 8; and Hannah, 6.

PARIS, W I L L I A M Born, County Down, Ireland, 1734; died, August 1, 1818, and

is buried in the Old Stone Church Cemetery, Elm Grove, Ohio County. Enlisted, 1776, as a private in Captain Bentley's company, Colonel Mar­shall's Virginia Regiment, Berkeley County, Virginia.

In 1758, before leaving Ireland married Dorothy Johnston, who was born in 1735. Their children were: John, 1759; David, 1761; Adam, 1763; Mary Faris Yates, 1768; William, Jr., 1772. (William was a soldier in the War of 1812.)

Born, 1761, Germantown, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Removed to Pendleton County, thence to Shenandoah, thence to Randolph County, where he resided when he received Revolutionary War pension in 1834.

In 1778, at the age of sixteen years, he enlisted in the Revolution­ary Army and was assigned to the Eight Company, Sixth Battalion, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania militia, under Captain Darke, Seley,

Spoon and Colonel Cross. He served to the end of the war, including1

the Yorktown campaign. He is sometimes referred to as a private of infantry, and sometimes as drummer, but could have been both,

Born, Berkeley County, Virginia, April 24, 1763. Resided in Morgantown, Monongalia County, Virginia, at the time of enlistment. Remained there until 1'827, when he removed to Ohio Township, Mon­roe County, Ohio.. Resided in Tyler County, Virginia, 1838, with his son, John B. Ferrel.
