SONSRAY MACHINERY ACQUIRES 11 CASE POWER & EQUIPMENT

LOCATIONS IN FOUR WESTERN STATES

RACINE, Wis. (Jan. 16, 2013) – Case Construction Equipment today announced an agreement with Sonsray

Machinery, LLC, of Los Angeles, under which Sonsray Machinery will acquire and operate 11 Case dealership

branch office locations in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

Previously owned and operated by Case Power and Equipment, a subsidiary of CNH Construction Equipment,

the Sonsray Machinery locations stretch from the San Diego area in Southern California to the Seattle area in

Washington.

Sonsray Machinery will provide comprehensive sales, as well as parts and service support for Case customers

through branch offices in El Cajon, Fontana, Santa Fe Springs, Sacramento, Stockton and Redding, Calif.;

Sparks, Nev.; Portland and Salem, Ore., and Auburn and Marysville, Wash.

NIEMCO Acquires Klein Products ofKansas, Expands Product Line, Services

Niece Equipment/NIEMCO has recently welcomed KleinProducts of Kansas to its family of companies. The acquisi-tion, which was finalized in August, not only expands eachcompany’s product line and services, but also adds to theyears of experience each has in the construction and miningequipment field. Combined, the companies offer the indus-try more than 90 years of proficiency and skill.

Though Klein Products of Kansas will now identify asKlein-Niece, at the moment, nothing else will change, saidAl Niece, founder and president of Niece Equipment andNIEMCO.

“Klein-Niece will operate completely autonomous fromNiece Equipment [and NIEMCO],” he said, adding thatbusiness partner Pat Flanagan will run the daily operations ofKlein-Niece, with Tom Schnackenberg, production and salesmanager, alongside.

“The addition of Klein-Niece will complete a full line oflarger units for mines and quarries worldwide,” Niece said,noting that Klein-Niece, which is located in Ft. Scott, Kan.,has actively continued to fill a list of orders for clients basedas far as South Africa and Australia. He adds that his line ofsmaller water and fuel/lube trucks and tanks manufacturedby NIEMCO will continue operations in Austin.

With the acquisition complete, Niece’s eagerness to con-tinue growing each company has sparked the initiative to addto the development of newer, more effective constructionand mining equipment for the industry.

From the growth perspective, Gonzalez

‘Dump Hunger’ Campaign to Fill Five Dump Trucks With FoodWhen the calendar turns to

January, donations to local foodbanks drop dramatically — a 36percent decrease on average inIdaho alone. In 2008, the Dump Hunger cam-

paign planned to fill one dumptruck with 75,000 lbs. of food andsupport local food banks whendonations are needed most. Five years and nearly two mil-

lion lbs. of food later, the 2013Dump Hunger campaign launchedwith its loftiest goal yet. WesternStates CAT, Albertsons and WellsFargo plan to fill five dump trucksand raise 375,000 lbs. for commu-nity food banks across theIntermountain West.“Hunger is just as prevalent

Legacy Helps ODOT Double Its Salt Storage CapacityThe Tulsa Port of Catoosa has opened a new bulk salt stor-

age facility for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation(ODOT). Erected by Legacy Building Solutions, the mas-sive tension fabric structure provides 50,000 tons (45,359 t)of storage capacity for roadway deicing salt, nearly doublingODOT’s available storage across the state.“ODOT will distribute the salt stored at this new location

to maintenance distribution sheds ahead of impending snowor ice events during the winter,” said Craig Swengle, associ-ate vice president of Dewberry Engineers Inc., the primaryengineer/architect for public improvements at the Port ofCatoosa. “Previously, salt was stored in the open and covered with

tarps after being off-loaded from barges. The new buildingwill protect the salt supply from being compromised by windand precipitation.”Measuring 203 ft. (62 m) wide by 400 ft. (122 m) long, the

structure features 16-ft. (4.9 m) cast-in-place concrete wallsand a rigid frame roof design that maximizes the usable inte-rior space. To eliminate corrosion concerns, Legacy Building

Solutions installed a PVC tension fabric roof with structuralsteel frame that peaks to a maximum height of 70 ft. (21 m).All of the building’s steel, components and hardware are hotdip galvanized. “Once the general contractor completed the footings and

floors, Legacy installed the fabric building very quickly, inabout two weeks,” said Swengle. “It was a very positiveprocess with professional communication between Legacyand Dewberry throughout the project.”The new salt storage building is primarily cladded with

tan fabric, while also incorporating a white skylight to allowsunlight to illuminate the structure’s interior. The building isventilated with mesh eaves and is designed to withstandwinds of 90 mph and hold snow loads of 20 lbs. (9 kg) persq. ft.The Tulsa Port of Catoosa was strategically chosen as the

site for the new facility because it allows ODOT to transportsalt to the northern part of the state on a barge via inlandwaterway. This reduces material transportation costs for thetaxpayers and provides an avenue to procure extra salt ship-

Ditch Witch Expands Its Operations Into Kan., Neb., Wyo.The Ditch Witch organization recently

announced that Ditch Witch of West Texas,Inc., Amarillo, Texas, recently purchased thestock of Kansas UnderCon, Inc., doing busi-ness as Ditch Witch UnderCon. Ditch Witch of West Texas, Inc., is jointly

owned by father and son team, Lenny andJake Sadler.Lenny and Jake Sadler will continue to do

business in Kansas and Nebraska under thename of Ditch Witch UnderCon. Their newly acquired territory includes all

of Kansas except a few of the easternmostcounties, central and western Nebraska and aportion of eastern Wyoming. TheKansas/Nebraska territory has three existinglocations — Wichita, Kan.; Grand Island,Neb.; and Gering (Scottsbluff), Neb.The expansion into Kansas and Nebraska

The Tulsa Port of Catoosa was strategically chosen asthe site for the new facility because it allows ODOT totransport salt to the northern part of the state on abarge via inland waterway.

The Interstate-880 corridor is a significantroute for commuters traveling to and fromthe Silicon Valley, from the Tri Valley Areaand Central Valley in the north, and the SanJose area to the south. Traffic has continuedto increase along this route, primarily in the“Golden Triangle” area bounded by SR 237,Route 101, and I-880.The Santa Clara Valley Transportation

Authority (VTA) and the CaliforniaDepartment of Transportation (Caltrans)partnered to effectuate a $70 millionimprovement project that will add more than4 mi. (6.4 km) of HOV (High OccupancyVehicle, or carpool) lane in each direction ofI-880 in Santa Clara County. The improve-ments take place between State Route 237 inthe city of Milpitas and U.S. 101 in the cityof San Jose. The project will fill an existing HOV lane

gap by extending the HOV system that con-nects northern Santa Clara County toAlameda County, a distance of about 20 mi.(32 km). HOV lanes have been shown to beeffective in reducing travel times during

peak commute hours.The State’s Corridor

Mobility ImprovementAccount (CMIA) funds allot-ted $50 million for the I-880project, and the other $20 mil-lion comes from VTA localprogram reserve funds.Project goals include

LiuGong Dealer On a Roll; Exceeds 2012 Sales ExpectationsDennis McShane knew that success was

going to take some time when WestraxMachinery took on the LiuGong construc-tion equipment brand in August of 2010. Notonly was the Chinese-based manufacturerrelatively unknown in North America, butthe California economy was in a deep slumpmaking any heavy equipment sale a chal-lenge.“We had a five-year plan for LiuGong,”

said McShane, sales manager of WestraxMachinery. “We really couldn’t have pickeda tougher time to take on this new equipmentline. We kept hearing ‘Construction equip-ment? In California? Are you serious?’People just weren’t buying back in 2010.”That was then. Today’s story is quite dif-

ferent. In 2012, McShane reported that his com-

pany shattered its sales goals for LiuGongsince January 2012. This includes the firstLiuGong ever sold in California and 2012sales surpassed every projection WestraxMachinery had in its third year carrying thebrand. McShane credits the support provided by

LiuGong executives like Fred Ridenour,general manager of business operations andMarcus Menough, western regional salesmanager. “We’ve gotten unbelievable support from

LiuGong North America on every level fromsales to parts and service. They deserve a tonof credit for our success,” he said.McShane also said a key order was placed

in late Spring by W.A. Rasic Construction ofLong Beach, Calif. The company orderedtwo LiuGong excavators and two wheelloaders after winning the bid for work on theLos Osos Wastewater Project (CollectionSystem Areas B and C) in San Luis ObispoCounty.W.A. Rasic Construction Vice President

David Lee said the LiuGong equipmentmet his company’s high standards.“For the Los Osos project, there were

very strict emissions requirements writteninto the RFP — even high by Californiastandards,” Lee said. “LiuGong’s machinescould meet those emissions standards,while having the quality and durability werequire from every piece of equipment wepurchase. The competitive, value-drivenprice was also enticing and a strong factorin our decision-making process.”Lee said they initially learned of

LiuGong at the ConExpo 2011 tradeshow. “We were impressed by their quality as

well as their determination to penetrate andsecure a position in the North Americanmarketplace. We knew LiuGong was seri-ous because they had Dennis McShane ontheir team. We’ve worked with Dennis formany years and trust him, knowing he onlyoffers quality products, backing them with

Construction needed two excavators andtwo wheel loaders. The firm purchased a922D 50,500-lb. (22,906 kg) excavator anda 915D 31,460-lb. (14,270 kg) excavator.The company also bought a pair of 842III Zwheel loaders.For Los Osos, W.A. Rasic Construction is

building more than 150,000 linear ft.(45,720 m) of gravity water mains, sewerforce mains, recycled effluent water forcemains, and laying subservice horizontal per-forated pipe. Among this and other work, thecompany is also laying 27,019 linear ft.(8,235 m) of fiber optic conduit and puttingin five monitoring wells. The LiuGongmachines handle much of the excavationand loading work for the project.The 922D has a Cummins QSB6.7, 155

hp (115.5 kW) engine and a travel speed ofup to 3 mph (4.8 kmh). The machine has amaximum digging depth of 21 ft. 8 in. (6.6m) and an operating weight of 50,500 lbs.(22,906 kg)for solid results on the job site.The standard bucket capacity is 1.31 cu. yds.(1 cu m) and the fuel capacity is 108.8 gal.

features like a closed, climate controlled cab,so crews can work year-round in comfort.The units also offer one of the widest cabs on

the market, as well as a large color LCDmonitor with a user-friendly interface forsimple operation.The 842III Z loader has a Cummins

QSB6.7, 193 gross hp (144 kW) engine witha net horsepower of 186 (139 kW). TheLoader has a standard bucket size of 3.5 cu.yds. (2.7 cu m) and an operating weight of33,601 lbs. (15,241 kg). The standard buck-et’s breakout force is 30,574 lbs. (13,868kg). The standard dump height is 9 ft. 9 in. (3m).Some of the features that impressed W.A.

On Dec. 21, 2012, ASA, ASA ofTexas, and other construction industrytrade organizations asked the TexasSupreme Court to respond to two cer-tified questions about state law in away that affirms legal precedent andprevents the erosion of insurance cov-erage provided by contractors’ CGLinsurance coverage. The two questions, posed to the

court in the case of EwingConstruction Co. Inc. v. AmerisureInsurance Co., relate to (1) whether the“Contractual Liability Exclusion” of aCGL policy excludes coverage fordamage arising out of a contractor’sdefective work, and (2) whether thatexclusion does not apply, according toother terms in such policies that rein-state coverage for “liability that wouldexist in the absence of contract.” ASA, ASA of Texas and the other

amici curiae told the high court thatcontractors are owed the coveragepromised in their CGL policies ineither case. “Applying the ContractualLiability Exclusion to property dam-age to an insured contractor’s worksimply because that property damagemay breach its contract has a pro-foundly negative effect on CGL cover-age for the construction industry,” theassociations told the court. To decide otherwise would be

“nothing short of a radical departurefrom the means by which CGL cover-age has traditionally been provided bythe insurance industry to contractors.” The U.S. Court of Appeals for the

5th Circuit on Aug. 8, 2012, asked theSupreme Court of Texas to decidewhen exclusions to insurance coverageapply. The appeals court vacated anearlier decision in the Ewing case on

the grounds that the state high courtand not a federal court should decidethe questions of state law. Contractors in Texas and across the

country are keeping a close eye on theoutcome in the Ewing case. “Anunwarranted over-extension of theContractual Liability Exclusion to aninsured contractor’s liability for prop-erty damage arising out of its ownbreach of contract is truly a gamechanger for the Texas constructionindustry and has potential ramifica-tions well beyond that industry,” ASA,ASA of Texas and the amici curiaesaid. Texas Needs to Tackle RoadFinancing as Population Growsneed to tackle road financing as the state’spopulation grows. TxDOT, which currently has a $10 billion

annual budget, relies on a 20-cents-a-gallonfuel tax that hasn’t been raised since 1991.State officials say they’ll soon run out ofmoney for any construction or expansionwithout changes. Among some proposals, the top ideas

appear to be rededicating sales tax revenueon vehicle purchases to TxDOT or adding$50 to the annual vehicle registration fee.Other proposals include ending diversionsfrom the gas tax revenue and taking $1 bil-lion from the state “rainy day fund” to createa highway infrastructure bank. Wilson, speaking at a 35W Coalition

meeting at Texas Motor Speedway in FortWorth, declined to offer support for any spe-

cific funding proposals, The Dallas MorningNews reported. But he said “there’s a lot ofdesire” from the House, Senate and governorto address infrastructure needs. Wilson did offer backing for a couple of

broader proposals that could affect TxDOT’sfinancial standing. He said he hoped the Legislature would

continue to approve public-private partner-ships, such as the LBJ Express in Dallas orNorth Tarrant Express in the Fort Wortharea. Those efforts, known as comprehen-sive development agreements, typically fea-ture managed toll lanes and allow for expe-dited project timelines. Wilson also said the problem of road dam-

lion people in December, up from 5.534 mil-lion in November, Simonson noted, anincrease of 0.5 percent. However, the sector'soverall employment in December was only18,000, or 0.3 percent, higher than one yearearlier when firms employed 5.546 millionworkers. The industry unemployment ratefell from 16 percent a year earlier, indicatingthat formerly unemployed constructionworkers are leaving the industry at a fasterrate than they are being rehired.Both residential and nonresidential con-

struction added jobs in December, with resi-dential construction outpacing nonresiden-tial construction for the month. Residentialconstruction added 18,100 jobs inDecember, with residential building contrac-tors adding 5,800 employees and residentialspecialty contractors adding 12,300 newworkers. Residential construction employ-ment is now up by 29,800, or 1.5 percent,compared to 12 months ago.Nonresidential contractors added 11,900

jobs (0.3 percent) in December, but are downby 12,400 jobs (minus 0.4 percent) com-

pared to one year ago. Nonresidential spe-cialty trade contractors added 5,600 jobs forthe month, while nonresidential buildingcontractors added another 7,000 jobs.However, heavy and civil engineering con-struction firms lost 700 jobs during themonth, dragged down by continuing cut-backs in government infrastructure spend-ing.Association officials said the growth in

construction employment was likelyrestrained by uncertainties about what feder-al tax and spending levels would be in 2013as Washington officials worked to addressthe pending fiscal cliff. They noted that thestopgap measure passed early in Januarywould do little to resolve broader fiscal prob-lems that are making it increasingly difficultfor the federal government to invest in vitalinfrastructure projects.“Until Washington can address the broad-

er challenge of out-of-control entitlementspending we are going to see more politicalstandoffs like the fiscal cliff and fewerinvestments in infrastructure,” said StephenE. Dynapac Unveils 5th Generation of Single Drum RollersDynapac USA has introduced four mod-

els of its CA-series single drum vibratoryrollers. The CA5000, CA5500, CA6000 andCA6500 have been equipped with a numberof enhancements over previous models,including optimized drum amplitude, auto-matic bouncing control and an overalldesign that makes it easier to service theequipment, according to the manufacturer.

Compaction is delivered by the new mod-els utilizing drum amplitude of .083in. (.2 cm.) This increasedforce allows rock fill tobe compacted in layersalmost 9 ft. (2.7 m) thickwith rock sizes up to 3 ft.(.9 m) in diameter. Italso requiresfewer passes toreach com-paction specifi-cations.

Automatic bouncing control measuresfeedback from the drum and eliminatesdrum bouncing or over compacting. Thisfeature improves compaction performancewhile extending the useful life of the equip-ment by eliminating drum double-jump,which could lead to premature failure ofmachine components, according to the man-ufacturer.

The CA6000D

model also features a governor to avoidcompacting at too high a speed.

A full package of design featuresenhances the serviceability of all models.The cross-mounted engine not only offerseasy access for service and maintenance, italso provides enhanced weight distributionand reduces overall machine length. Thehydraulic pumps, arranged in line with theengine, are easily accessed for servicing.

Another key feature is the “ECOmode” fuel conservation system thatminimizes fuel consumption aswell as carbon dioxide emissionsby ensuring that the roller does notconsume more power than neededat any given time. The models also

give attention to enhanced safety fea-tures with electronic drive control,which provides a “quick brake” func-tion and a tilt indicator. Dynapac’santi-spin traction system ensuresconsistent on-the-go traction andgradeability.

The combustion air intake isplaced on the engine hood with the

outlet running down the sides, thereby keep-ing the inlet air as clean as possible. Whencombined with the ejector exhaust outlet,this placement also serves to minimize noiselevels.

The CA rollers have static linear loads of280 pounds per linear inch (pli) on theCA5000, 310 pli on the CA5500, 335 pli onthe CA6000 and 365 pli on the CA6500. Allfour models are equipped with interim TierIV engines from Deutz, and can use a mix ofbiodiesel and regular diesel fuel.

Both the PF6160 and PF6170 are powered by a 205-hp

(153 kW) Tier III-certified Cummins engine. A level-loadsuspension design uses the two drive wheels and the centerof the bogie hydraulic system. KGM Runs Around $20M in Equipment Per Day for Jobwith completion expected in 2015.“We’re probably running about $20 million worth of

equipment on a daily basis,” said KGM Equipment ManagerBill Forgey. “Just focusing on utilization of the equipmenthas been a big job.”The bridge that spans the north section of Lake

Washington is approximately 7,000 ft. (2,133 m) long, butthe project also includes road construction and land-basedinfrastructure.The design-build bridge brings together many architectur-

al aspects. There are 77 pontoons — big concrete hollowboxes (with cells inside) that are joined together to provide afloating platform for the elevated roadway to be built on.They are anchored down to the lakebed with 4 in. (10 cm)diameter steel cable to a series of large concrete anchors andshafts which are driven into the lake bottom. The six laneroadway deck is elevated on columns that are roughly 10 ft.(3 m) above the pontoons. Upon exiting thefloating bridge, motorists will enter a 700 ft.(213 m) land-based bridge before joining backto the existing roadway surface at grade.“There’s also a 19,000-square-feet four-

story maintenance facility that’s being con-structed,” said Erik Nelson, KGM’s projectmanager. While WSDOT specified the design of the

pontoons, Kiewit was responsible for theremainder of the project’s design.“A floating bridge is quite technical and

complex — there are a lot of load conditionsthat must be considered and a lot of differentand unique criteria associated with it,” saidNelson. “Some of the pontoons are being fur-nished by WSDOT via another contract andbeing manufactured in Aberdeen, Washington— a four-day ocean tow that presents us witha lot of challenges — timing, weather condi-tions and seascapes.“The remaining pontoons are being built

under this contract at a facility in Tacoma,” headded, “so we have to coordinate the con-

struction and towing of the pontoons and get them to the laketo join them in their corresponding final alignment. There isalso an adjacent contract on the existing SR 520 highway onthe east side, so there is a lot of coordination and timingrequirements associated with the project that have to beaccounted for.”Planning for the bridge project was extensive and required

nearly a year to determine the overall design, the deliveryand work schedule, and the amount and type of equipmentthat would be needed for the multi-year project, as well asaccounting for unexpected delays and potential surprises.“So far our planning has been excellent and we’ve gotten

off to a good start,” said Nelson.The underwater portion of the project is complex and div-

ing teams with solid construction experience have beenbrought in to work at the 200-ft. (61 m) depths. Diving to thatdepth requires special equipment, including a compressionchamber.

“When we designed the anchors we had to take intoaccount the soil conditions and properties,” said Nelson. “Itrequires a lot of planning to coordinate the underwater andabove-water construction and ensure that all safety concernsare met.”The marine equipment employed by KGM includes

barges, derrick barges and tug boats – quite the flotilla.“Most of the time we have six to eight derrick barges

working,” said Forgey. “The largest one is a 400-ton DB 24crane that is owned by Manson. The other derricks we’reusing are owned by General and have a lifting capability of150-ton and 100-tons.”The DB Columbia and DB LA barges are owned by

General. The tugs were supplied by Manson and Westar.The anchors are being cast at Kiewit’s site at Kenmore, 20

mi. (32 km) north of the bridge. The gravity anchors (whenfilled with rocks) weigh over 560 tons (508 t), while thefluke anchors weigh 112 tons (101 t).

“We’re picking up the fluke anchors with a120-ton shuttle lift and moving them out on atrestle and loading them on the barges,” saidForgey. At the Tacoma site, Forgey is employing a

150-ton (136 t) Liebherr crawler crane and twoLiebherr 44-ton (40 t) tower cranes help buildthe pontoons in a dry dock.“We’re also using a lot of other gear to aid the

work such as hydraulic cranes and smaller fork-lifts at our facility in Kenmore,” he said. “Wehave two crawler cranes — a 240-ton American9310 and a 300-ton LR1280. We have a 30 tongantry crane that will be doing some of oursmaller pre-cast work, which includes a 120 —shuttle lift.” He added that nearly 95 percent ofthe equipment to be used on the project is ownedby the joint venture.Xtreme Manufacturing built two types of

pick and carry extended boom forklifts —10,000 and 15,000 lbs. (4,536 and 6,804 kg).“We bought five new ones for the job,” said

Forgey. “The forklifts pick and carry forms,deliver small tools, and can transport supplies tojob locations.”

Maximizing equipment use and scheduling maintenanceare critical to the success and schedule of the project. Forgeyis using job equipment maintenance system software toensure that there are no unexpected breakdowns, that regularmaintenance is done, and that this work is taken care of dur-ing off-hours and downtime.“All our repairs and maintenance are based on hours of

use and we focus on getting all our hours into the computerprogram to stay on schedule,” he said. “One key to successof our job scheduling is to maintain a five week look-aheadschedule and communicate that on a weekly basis to every-one on the project team in a project meeting.”Nelson noted that this project is providing a valuable

experience and lessons that can be applied on future projects.“Not only is this project unique,” he said, “but so is the

variety of equipment. In addition to marine equipment, wehave traditional land-based equipment as well as loaders,dozers, cranes, forklifts, etc. It’s important to us that we arebuilding a project that really benefits the public and are per-forming well in meeting the needs of client.”

Anchorage Mulls Options forTroubled Port Expansion JobANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) The best

options for the troubled Port of Anchorageexpansion project involve removing most ofthe new dock areas built, then either replac-ing the old dock or shoring it up, city offi-cials said. One possible fix would leave the two

major cargo carriers at the Port ofAnchorage’s old dock, which officials say isdeteriorating, the Anchorage Daily Newsreported Dec. 17. Possible ways to resolve the project came

out of a recent three-day session involvingkey players, including the port, cargo carri-ers, consulting engineers CH2M Hill and theU.S. Maritime Administration, the federalagency that managed the beleaguered proj-ect. The city has been working for more than

a decade to improve and replace the 51-year-old dock. Under a design patented by PND

Engineers Inc. as open cell sheet pile, thenew dock was being built as a series of U-shaped steel cells backfilled with gravel tocreate new land, instead of a traditional dockon piling.

Major construction was halted in 2009and 2010 after components of the new dockwere damaged. Last year, the Maritime Administration, or

MARAD, contracted with the U.S. ArmyCorps of Engineers to determine whether thecell sheet pile design could be constructed atthe port site. The Corps hired CH2M, whichconcluded an open-cell dock structure couldfail during an earthquake even if the steelsheets were driven into the seafloor correct-ly. PND Engineers disputes that contention. “We at PND and our subcontractors stand

behind the design and analysis we per-formed, which was validated after multiplereviews by MARAD, USACE [Corps ofEngineers] and other public entities as wellas PND’s 32-year reputation and history ofsuccess,” PND president John Pickeringwrote in a Dec. 4 letter to the municipality. PND still is reviewing its draft copy of the

CH2M Hill study, but wants to help themunicipality complete the port project,Pickering wrote. The 2,200-page study is scheduled for

public release in February.

Guide’s (CEG) Auction ResultsPage is a new addition to the CEGWeb site. The Auction Results Page

allows users to gain access to theresults of thousands of recent auc-tions held across the UnitedStates. This new feature includes adatabase of thousands of pieces ofequipment. It also was designedto make the process of searchingauction results both streamlinedand detailed at the same time.“We recognized the need for

our readers to have access to thelatest auction results from all overthe United States,” said RobTredinnick, head of the Webdepartment of CEG. “What we’vedone with this feature is givenWeb users the ability to quickly find the results of hundredsof auctions in a variety of ways.”Users can choose one of two methods to search the

Auction Results Page: The first method is to simply browsethe Results Section by Equipment Type and then drill downby Manufacturer. The second method uses the AuctionSearch Page’s powerful database to enter a host of options inthe search. Users can search the database by entering specif-ic Model Numbers, Hours/Miles, Price, Year, location of

auction by zip code, to list a few methods.Allowing users a choice of how they want to find their

results was a key component of the page. “We wanted the best of both worlds,” said Tredinnick.
