Today’s Readings remind us all life on Earth is created by God over eons, even the air we breathe. Have we taken these gifts of God for granted and the people around Us?
“to commit a crime against the natural world is a sin against ourselves and a sin against God”
Pope Francis Laudato Si #8
“science and religion, with their distinctive approach-es….can enter into an intense dialogue fruitful for both..” Pope Francis Laudato Si #62
The Australian Department of the Environment designs and implements the Australian Government’s policies and pro-grammes. The department rests on four pillars—clean water, national heritage, clean air and clean land.—to help to con-serve the environment and promote action on global warm-ing Today’s Eucharist gives us the courage to take a more humble stance in life. We go in the wisdom of God to help make Earth a place ordered according to God
Child Protection Week Today marks the end of National Child Protection Week, an event that raises the awareness of child abuse prevention. The Safeguarding and Ministerial Integrity of the Archdio-cese of Sydney continuously strives to ensure the safety of children and young people is paramount. The Safeguarding Office with the children and young people of the Archdio-cese of Sydney have created two resources which are on dis-play at the back of the church. The ladders and slides game is for children aged 5-12 years, and the Behaviour Code is for young people aged 13-17 years. Our Parish will be using these resources in our Minis-tries for children and young people. Our Parish continuously supports the efforts of the Safe-guarding Office to ensure that our Parish environment is safe for children and young people.
Message from the Safeguarding Office
Child sexual abuse is a crime. The appropriate people to deal with crimes are the police. If you—or anyone you know– have been abused, please contact the police. Alternatively, you can contact the Safe-guarding and Ministerial Integrity Office on [email protected] OR 9390 5810. You may also want to speak to your Parish Priest who will be able to provide support and guid-ance. The Archdiocese has a legal obligation to report crimes to the police.
