In the 21st century, women struggle to find and implementaffordable and sustainable ways for maintaining physical, financial,mental and spiritual wellness. Often times, we struggle to stickwith a program or plan for self-care when we lack the proper toolsand support systems. This workshop will explore the challengesthat women face when endeavering to prioritize self-care.Participants will also learn time-tested techniques and nourishingstrategies for committed self-care. Every participant will leave theworkshop with a Wellness manifesto and an action plan for self-care success.

Dr. Shanesha Brooks-Tatum isFounder/CEO of the LifeBalance Wellness Institute,whose mission is to supportBlack women in their quest tolive well and thrive! Dr.Shanesha Brooks-Tatumcompleted her doctorate inAmerican Studies at theUniversity of Michigan. Arecent NEH Fellow at EmoryUniversity and former VisitingScholar-in-Residence at AgnesScott College, Dr. Brooks-Tatum is Founder andPresident of the NationalAnnual Black Women's LifeBalance and WellnessConference, whose mission isto provide an open, honest,and intergenerational spacefor women to learn and sharestrategies for achievingbalance and wellness in allareas of life. Dr. Brooks-Tatum also serves as VicePresident of Creative ResearchSolutions, LLC, a research andevaluation firm, and was a2013 Fullbright-Hays Fellow inSalvador, Brazil.
