Creating and TransferringWell Templates

Overview

Well templates are needed to view well data in the LogEdit, Single WellViewer, Correlation, and Cross Section applications. The WellTemplate Editor utility, merged with Single Well Viewer in this release,lets you create and edit templates that determine how your downholewell data are displayed. The merged utility appears on the PetroWorksinterface as Single Well Viewer Edit Mode, under the Utilities menuon the PetroWorks Launcher Bar.

Until you create templates for your projects, you can use one of up toeight default templates for all applications. SWV Edit Mode createsthese templates when you select File > Templates > Create Defaults.

You can use one template for all applications or create severaltemplates for a variety of displays. You can assign specific templates toindividual wells. All templates are stored in the project database andare accessed by the LogEdit, Single Well Viewer, Correlation, andCross Section applications.

SWV Edit Mode, your templates appear as cartoons and consist ofindividual, vertical display components called tracks. You can selectthe track types to be included in the template, specify the order inwhich to place the tracks in the template, and set display parameters foreach track.
