PURPOSE

Conveying the belief that our church finds everyone to be special to God and therefore to us.

GREETING GUIDELINES

• Arrive 30 minutes before the service begins. If you are not familiar with the building, arrive earlier to get the lay of the land. You will want to be able to offer guests directions to the Fellowship Hall and Sunday School classes.

• Wear a member badge and a greeter badge. Greeter badges are located on the lower area of the name tag boards.

GREETING GUIDELINESOutside Greeters

• Outside greeters stand at portico by the circular driveway facing Bluebonnet Street. Outside greeters should use the wheelchair to aid impaired guests or members if needed. Remember that the chair wheels must be in the locked position before a person sits down and before they exit

from the chair. Extra chairs are available in the chapel closet if a person needs to take the chair into the sanctuary.

GREETING GUIDELINESInside Greeters

• Inside greeters stand at the doors to the Narthex. Encourage all those entering to retrieve a nametag.

Nametags assist greeters in identifying those who may not have received a nametag. Greeters should encourage guests to visit the information desk and sign the guest book. Assisting the guest to the Welcome Desk offers an opportunity to link the guest with another member and enhance the welcoming efforts. Attempt to welcome guests again during the “Passing of the Peace” portion in service.
