Welcome to this years Volunteering Fair at the University of West London.
The Volunteering Fair is organised by the Vteam and it aims to showcase short-term and long-term volunteering opportunities from over 35 organisations – meaning you can do as much or as little as you want so it fits around your schedule. It's a great way to share your skills and give back to the community .
Come along and feel inspired!
This is YOUR chance to network with various charitable and not-for-profit or-ganisations, find out about the fantastic volunteering opportunities they have on offer, how to apply and whether the organisation is right for you. This is YOUR opportunity to develop your skills, gain new experiences and en-hance your CV, making you more employable for the future! Before attending the fair….
1. Have a look at the organisations attending the fair and decide if
you want to approach someone specifically about their opportuni-
ties.
2. Prepare your CV or any questions you might have so you can ask
them to one of our careers advisor.
3. Drop an email to the Vteam if you have any questions:
On the day of the fair…
1. Register at the Vteam desk in Weston Hall. This is essential for you
to receive more information from us about volunteering opportu-
nities.
2. Use this guide to plan your visit, explore the various organisations
stands and find out what they have on offer. Don’t be afraid to ask
questions!
3. Register your interest with the organisations. No obligation to
commit to anything. If you have any questions that you wish to ask
the Vteam about any organisations, just email the Vteam after the
fair.
The VTeam
After checking out all the organisations...
1. Drop the Vteam an email if you have any questions or wish
to know more about any of the organisations at the fair.
2. Get your CV, covering letter and/or application form
checked over by a careers advisor. You can also get help
with interviews!
3. Apply for the positions and wait to hear back from the or-
ganisations.
4. Fingers crossed you’ll get your volunteering opportunity
and start it as soon as possible!
5. Notify the Vteam of your volunteering to ensure you’re in-
vited to the VAwards 2017/18.
6. Ask the Vteam for your LogBook and record your hours. At
the end of April, don’t forget to submit your Volunteering
Logbook to [email protected] , so you can get your
Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum Award.

DKMS' key Mission is to increase the pool of lifesaving blood stem cell donors, as we believe that not one
single person suffering with a blood cancer should die because they are unable to find a matching blood
stem cell donor.
Cancer Research UK At Cancer Research UK we pioneer research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
We are looking for shop assistants to help in our shops across
London. This is a varied role working with customers, helping to
process donated stock and fundraise for this amazing cause.
Most volunteers give a minimum of 2 hours a week but what-
ever you can give is very much appreciated.

Ealing Carers Service provides information, advice and signposting for

Ealing Festival Ealing Festival of Music is an annual competitive event for performers of all
ages, from 5-year-olds to gifted young adults from conservatoires and col-
leges. It takes place during April and May each year at a range of venues
around Ealing.

Good Gym Ealing GoodGym helps you get fit by doing good. We’re a group of runners that combines regular exercise with
helping our communities.
We need more volunteers for our group runs that happen every
Tuesday at 7pm. The number of people is unlimited and because
it's casual volunteering it's accessible to everyone. We are also
looking for more people we can pair with isolated older people in
the community.
Girlguiding We empower nearly half a million girls to be their best and face the challenges of growing up today. We’ve been do-ing that through adventure, friendship and fun for over 100 years.
Join our team of inspirational Leaders, provide occasional support, or simply share a skill or passion with girls in a
local unit - all while benefiting from the adventure and opportunities guiding has
to offer. Whether leading a unit, or helping out more casually, you'll run activi-
ties, games, projects and events that give girls the opportunity to discover their
potential. If you'd like to lead a guiding group, you'll be supported to complete
our Leadership Qualification, with training on everything from planning your pro-
gramme to child safety.

Marie Curie We’re here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. We
offer expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the
time they have left.

London Youth Games Force GamesForce is the London Youth Games’ volunteer programme providing op-
portunities to be part of Europe's largest youth sports festival with over 33

Orchid is recognised as the UK’s leading charity working on behalf of anyone affected by or interested in

Resources for Autism Resources for Autism is a charity that supports, children, young people and adults with autism and their
families. We provide services such as music and art therapy, play and holiday schemes, adult groups

We are looking for great people to fill our volunteer home sup-

RNLI The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea and on the river Thames through lifeboat search and rescue,
lifeguards, water safety prevention and flood rescue. We rely on vol-
