All proceeds help fund those going to camp in 2015. The cost is $.25 per card. Please place cards in the “TO BE SORTED” box and we’ll take care of the rest! UBC’s Offering Goal is $3,000 What happens because you give? Southern Baptists’ faithful giving undergirds the thousands of missionaries sent from our churches, through IMB, for a single, eternal purpose: making disciples in the name of Jesus. Here are some numbers to celebrate! Last year your nearly 4,900 missionaries reported: 1) Nearly 1,700,000 heard a gospel witness 2) More than 235,000 became new believers 3) 141 new people groups were engaged. These numbers represent changed lives with new hope and purpose. Every penny you give to Lottie Moon supports missionaries as they share the Gospel overseas. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT! Current giving for UBC is $865. Wed, 24 th Christmas Eve Office Closed Christmas Eve Service, 24 th 4:30pm Christmas Day office closed Sunday Morning, 28 th Bible Study & Worship Sunday Evening, 28 th : No evening activities Wed., New Year’s Eve, 31 st No evening activities New Year’s Day, Jan 1 st Office Closed Only activities are Sunday School & Worship on Sundays, until Wed., Jan 14 th when Open House resumes at 6:45pm. UBC Student Bulletins are online! Look under “Resources” for ‘Student Bulletins’! Join us January 11, 2015, at 6:00 pm, to hear Ed Brzezinskis testimony/report about his latest mission trip to Malawi, Africa. We look forward to hearing about his trip and hearing how God was presented and accepted during his trip. You wont want to miss hearing how your gift of soap was used. After preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world for the better part of the last century, Billy Graham has one more message to share with My Hope America. In conjunction with Billy Grahams book, The Reason for My Hope, and the Christian CD, My Hope, Billy Graham seeks to empower America to turn back to Christ and eventually the world through a genuine relationship with Jesus. Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity, which marks the likely spot of Jesus’ birth, has a four- foot-high entrance. Throughout the centuries, the height of the entrance has been lowered twice: once to prevent looting and once to keep out camel- and horse-riders. Because visitors must bow as they enter, this has become known as the Door of Humility. It’s a reminder of the reverent, submissive posture our hearts should take as we approach our newborn Lord and Savior. It’s also a reminder that Jesus is the narrow door (Luke 13:24) the only path to eternal life. As you worship this Christmas season, whether or not you’re physically able to kneel, enter Jesus’ presence with a humble and thankful heart. He alone deserves our reverence because he alone is able to save. If the weather warrants cancellation of ANY UBC activity or event, please check the following prior to coming out. Check UBC website ‘Welcome Page’ Check TV: Local 12 or WCPO 9 Check your email. There will be an email sent out to those on our email list. Please do not call the church. Children Ages 4 Grade 2 are dismissed for Children’s Church. Please have them come to the front to be escorted to their class. God’s Plan for Your Life Are you certain you have eternal life and will go to Heaven when you die? What would you say if you were standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” God’s Purpose: God loves us and has a purpose for our lives. The Bible says it this way: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16) Our Need: As we search for meaning in life, we discover that our sinful nature keeps us from fulfilling God purpose for our lives. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) God’s Provision: God is holy and just and must punish sin. Yet He loves us and provides forgiveness for our sin. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6) Our Response: The only way Jesus can affect our lives is for us to receive Him. We must surrender to Jesus as Lord. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Rom. 10:9-10) My Commitment: “Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and died to forgive me of my sins. I know I have sinned. I ask You to forgive me. I turn from my sins, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. I want to live for You the rest of my life. Amen.”
