At Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers, we build furniture of truly lasting

value. Since 1972, we have created furniture of exceptional design and

enduring quality—handcrafting one piece at a time. Here, in our Maine

workshop, each piece is meticulously made from sustainable American

hardwood and guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Our designers and craftsman want the furniture we make to exceed the

needs and expectations of our customers—our goal is to craft a piece

that will engender the same pride of ownership that we feel in making

it. With each piece, we are creating an heirloom of tomorrow.

For the first three years, our offering consisted of reproductions of American furniture that I admired. But I soon realized that while honoring past designs was a reasonable way to make a living, it wasn’t true to my own vision. then and there, I determined that we needed to create our own definitive style. I had a strong sense that the best design is simple, unadorned and in harmony with the material, and I very much wanted to build on traditional furniture forms with those values in mind.

Forty years later, it is apparent that adhering to this design aesthetic was the right path. our dedication to spare design that celebrates form and function has been passed down through generations of customers and mosers.

Our signature piece is a unique, trade-marked Moser design and an enduring customer favorite. Eleven 1/10" knife-cut slices of the same tree are glued together, then painstakingly rasped, filed and sanded to form the signature arms.

Handcrafted stools are a staple here at Thos. Moser, and we offer a selection of timeless designs. All our stools are offered in three standard heights for counters and bars. In addition, we offer the Bowback Stool and High Stool in an 18" seat height for use as occasional seating or to comfortably pair with tables, desks, and bedroom vanities.

many of our collections include one or more smaller tables, designed to work beautifully en suite or to stand alone wherever needed. many of our loyal customers introduce friends and family to the moser aesthetic through a gift of one of these tables.

In every way, our occasional tables embody the philosophy and dedication of our company, just on a smaller scale. we know these tables get plenty of use, and we craft them to become better with age. the diverse range of styles makes it easy to mix designs. custom sizes, features (such as drawers and pulls), and other wood species are available.

In the beginning, we only made custom one-of-a-kind furniture. today many of those custom pieces are now our most popular designs. we also continue to offer custom pieces upon request. we can modify the length, width, and height of our pieces—or customize drawers and shelving to meet your precise requirements. case pieces can be customized to create media storage that won’t overwhelm the rest of your room. Beds can be made for platform mattresses or lower footboards. If you require a unique design, we’ll work with you to draw the piece and engineer it for strength.

If you prefer another species of wood, we can substitute almost any native hardwood of your choice. with everything we do, we intend to provide you with an heirloom.
