I would start off by congratulating the cohort. Edinburgh Universitystands for the internationality in academic research, mixing legacy withmodernization to offer an astonishing experience for all who areassociated with it.
Back home, ample opportunities await. The experience gathered inEdinburgh will provide to be a huge pedestal for you all to vitalize yourtargeted prospects.
My time at Edinburgh was invariably the best time of my student life.Having met a diverse range of individuals from all across the globe, Ireinvented myself as I made lasting friendships with the most amazingpeople. The new cultures that I was faced with made me moreaccommodating to newer ideas.
The city has carved a mark on me that is bound to remain forever. I stillreminisce about my time with my friends around the medieval lanes ofthe Old Town to hyper-modern Leith Walk. Recalling the time spent inthe serenity of Dean’s Village, to the hugely populous Princes Street, the city has given me infinite memories to hold on to. Edinburgh hasbeen a bittersweet journey for me. Bitter because it came to aconclusion in 2017, but sweet because it happened in the first place.

My first month at the University of Edinburgh I found myself standing foot deep in mud at a landfill site outside the city and I knew I was in the right place. I was completing my Master's degree in Environmental Protection and Management and the University offered me the perfect balance of in-class learning and on-the-field experience. I feel a deep connection to this institution that has given me the skills, knowledge and confidence to build a career in the environmental space, and I assure you that if you make the most of your experience at Edinburgh, the University will prepare you for a bright and path-breaking future. While you're there, don't miss exploring the city and Scotland. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world with incredible landscapes, lots of castles and a very warm and friendly community.I miss hanging out with my professors, classmates and friends at the pub after a day of classes or fieldwork. I had some of the most memorable conversations on those occasions. Edinburgh is a melting pot of students from all over the world and I am so grateful that I got to meet and learn from such a diverse group of people.

On September 2015, when I joined my course (IBEM), I never thought my life would change for better from here. Master’s programme at University of Edinburgh business School enormously contributed to my professional and personal life. World class academic body and international network of University has provided me the diversity in my perspective towards my career. Today I’m confident, successful, and ambitious towards my purpose of life. The knowledge, discipline, and the experience of studying abroad gained at the University, has given me the edge to see life in a more holistic approach. I truly feel that my transformation has been immensely positive. I’ve turned from seeker to enabler, from follower to a leader and importantly from chaser to goal setter. I truly dedicate my success to my Alma mater, professors and my parents.

"The journey writes its own course when you choose the most beautiful country, the most beautiful city, one of the best universities of the world and the most friendly locals. Scotland, and University of Edinburgh... it will be a dream you wouldn’t want to wake up from. The irony of it would be having a degree with you at the end of a year long holiday. The international exposure with the diverse portfolio of classmates and the aura that you would be carrying as "One of them" during your interviews is an investment there will be no regrets for.
I came back home as I believed I had more to contribute here in terms of the challenges my country faces today. I came back with a smile that hasn’t stopped ever since I have been using the University tag in my resume. There is no shortage of opportunities for anyone who is educated and mature enough to understand that he can contribute to the society in one way or the other.
I made so many friends back in my day that I have free accommodation in almost the entire world right now.... and trust me, all of the people associated with the name "University of Edinburgh" are supremely talented in some way or the other... me included ;)
So to all the new/excited/nervous/anxious folks out there... You'll are entering the vortex of happy emotions that is going to govern you life in the most positive ways you can imagine, just jump in and start the ride.

“Pause for a minute – making the decision about what to do next feels huge, but it's only one of many career decisions we're going to have to make. Take a breather, figure what it is you really want to achieve and then decide from there. Also, if you are planning on moving back home, make sure that you and your family are on the same page and they understand your reasons for making your decision. Living alone for 4 years and then moving home can be a lot otherwise!”
