We ended up slightly over plan on the baselined budget of $35,321 - final $38,411.However, within that total, our external vendor cost has gone above the original budget.Avtex had some additional work that will put them approximately 20 hours over budget for a total of around $21,731. This is primarily due to some additional research around documenting the existing campaign setup rules and fixing a problem with the call status updates to Akcelerant. In addition, the recent phone system upgrade in late 2015 resulted in some table changes in dialer and these needed to be adjusted in order to get the call statuses into Akcelerant correctly.

Agenda
• What is it?• Why did we doing it?
• Strategic value• Cost benefit
• Q&A
What is VIP?
• Next phase of infrastructure virtualization • Servers were virtualized beginning in 2009• Private Cloud -> network and security devices
• Solution:• VMWare NSX
• Network Virtualization• Hypervisor firewall
• F5 Global load balancing• Load balance external connections and Tier 1 apps across data
centers
Server Virtualization 2009-2011

20 Physical Servers
20 to 1 Physical Consolidation
Virtual Server Guests
Why are we doing it?
• Our Requirements are Changing• Security requirements increasing due to regulator
scrutiny and data risk• Time to market is critical• Need to do more but without adding FTEs• Be cloud ready

Availability & DR:- Increase firewall capacity
- DR test: reroute network
- 2 - 4 wks to purchase & deploy h/w- 4-6 hours of manual effort
- < 1 min to add resources to virtual guest firewall- <90 seconds fully automated
Flexibility & Agility:- deploy app network - 1 - 2 days to configure - < 1 hr to create & deploy
Security: - secure application with granular controls- create firewall ruleset
- 2 - 4 weeks to purchase & deploy hardware- 1+ hrs to evaluate & deploy
- < 2 hours to validate & deploy virtual firewall- < 15 min to validate and deploy
Cost Savings1:- Capex- Opex- Operations FTE deferral
- Status quo lifecycle + growth- Status quo M&O- Add .8 FTE yearly
- Save 8% over 5 years- Save 13% over 5 years- Defer 4 FTE hires
NOTE 1: VMWare Consulting performed a 5yr ROI study in February-April 2015
Why are we doing it?• Capex cost benefit
• $580K to implement, saves $116k over 5 yrs• Do nothing option will still cost $303K in 2016
