Multi-media Research Centre
Hints and Tips
The MRC is open all day every day during
term time. You are welcome to use the MRC
for quiet work, research or reading (You will
need to sign in with your planner during study
lessons).
You need your swipe card or planner to
borrow books.
You can use the MRC during your 30
minute lunch break. Why not borrow a
book for the Big Read.
You can borrow books for up to 4 weeks
Year 7 can borrow 7 resources,
Year 8 = 8 resources
Year 9 = 9 resources
Year 10 = 10 resources
Year 11 = 11 resources
Year 12 & 13 = 12 resources
Avoid fines and
invoices sent
home by returning
borrowed books
on time.

Information Literacy:
The six stages of Research
This circle can help you to complete
effective research and produce your best work.
Start with the planning circle, think about the
questions inside it and then move onto the next
stage. You can repeat this process several times
before you complete your work.

MRC CODE OF CONDUCT
The MRC is a valuable community
space. It is essential that users
bear this in mind and pay due regard to others
around them and the learning environment
itself.
The MRC is here to assist you and all TDA
members in their learning.
Respect the MRC environment by:-
Refrain from socialising
Consume food and drink in the Refectory, not
the MRC.
Put books that you have used back onto the
shelves in the correct place.
Keep your books safe and do not lend them to
others.
Return or renew books that you borrow
BEFORE the date stamped inside.
Keep phones, I Pods and other similar items in
your bag.
Non-compliance will result in a discussion with the
MRC Manager and one or several of the following
consequences:
Being asked to return to your class/college area.
A negative note in planner/or student events
A report to Form Tutor/Subject Tutor.
A letter home to parent & College Leader copied in.
