Led by Wiley & Sarah Sloan & Fred & Elizabeth Motz.Seekers are studying the New Testament book of 1 Peter. (meets in the Board Room) Led by Bob GregoryAbundant Life is taking a break for the summer. Over & Under 50 Disciples Explore the New Testament using the Tools of a modern day, widely recognized scholar- Bart D. Ehrman, Professor of Religious Studies, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This study combines biblical scholarship, archaeological discoveries, and literary analysis. Led by Ken Bowser. Parent Community Class meets in the Preschool Room. The class is group led. Topic varies weekly.

Check out our Donation Station across from the church office. Here we collect items for various missions including:
Homeless Outreach Sample size or hotel shampoos and soap. These will be given to area homeless shelters.Food Pantry - Items most needed: rice, canned fruit, black beans, juices, tomato products, & bread. Anyone in need, either temporarily or regularly, may visit the Food Pantry on Mondays from 3:30 – 5:30pm. The Pantry is located behind HUMC on 3rd Street. Life Challenge - Life Challenge is a Christian Residential Center created to help people with life controlling issues. We support this program by providing gently-used clothing, household items, and small furniture for their Resale Shop in Dillsboro. Eye Glasses - Glasses are for multiple mission projects

Home Study Group meets at 7:30 pm each Monday at the Motz's house. The Lectionary Texts for the week are discussed.
TuesdayWomen’s Emmaus Group meets at 11:00am in the church parlor.Women’s Bible Study – The Women's Bible Study is taking a short break but will resume on July 1st. They will be studying J. Ellsworth Kalas's book “If Experience Is Such a Good Teacher, Why Do I Keep Repeating the Course?” Please come and join us Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm on July 1st in the parlor for this new study!

Dr. Ellsworth Kalas is our guest preacher today. A former President of Asbury Theological Seminary, he currently serves the Seminary as Senior Professor of Homiletics. His expertise is Narrative Preaching and Church Renewal. He has written more than thirty books, and we have studied many of them. There will be a book signing between services.Church Family Supper this week will be a prepared meal. Please make your reservations on the attendance pad today or call the church office no later than 4pm on Monday. Menu: roast beef, carrots/potatoes/onions, green beans, salad, rolls, peach cobblerCelebrate Summer ~ Family Pool Party ~ Wednesday, June 18th, 6:00-8pm. Girl’s Breakfast - Youth girls will meet Tuesday mornings at 8am beginning June 17th. We will meet at various locations for a devotion & breakfast :)Guy’s Breakfast - Youth boys will meet Monday mornings at 8am for breakfast beginning on June 16th. Location TBA.Sunday School ~ The youth are doing a study titles, “The 13 Most Important Bible Lessons for Teenagers.” Youth, grades 6-12 are invited to join us each Sunday at 9:45 for Sunday School.
SYF (Sunday Youth Fellowship) ~High School youth (grades 9-12) are invited for dinner and a study each Sunday evening from 5:30-7pm, beginning with dinner at 5:30 followed by a short lesson and discussion. Wednesday Youth - Meet after dinner from 6-7pm in the youth room. We are doing a study titled, “Book of Fidgets.”

Upcoming Guest PreacherDr. Steve Kraftchick will preach on June 22nd at the 8:30 & 10:50 services. Dr. Kraftchick's. He specializes in the Pauline epistles, the parables of Jesus, and the history of New Testament interpretation. Dr. Kraftchick's current interests have recently expanded into the field of technology and theology. His last visit with us was in March of 2013 as part of our Lenten Study.
