The Library has a specialised collection of activity based resources to assist in lesson programming and preparation in Religious Education.
Many of the resources include a teachers manual and student workbook or activity sheets and cover the full spectrum of the R.E. Curriculum.

Remember membership for students and lecturers involved in tertiary and accreditation courses in Religious Studies or teaching programs for Catholic Schools is
Advanced bookingTeachers, or students on practicum, who are Library members can use the teacher’s online Advanced Booking facility to choose and order print & audiovisual resources. These can then be delivered to your school via the weekly courier service, in time for your planned lessons. To use the online booking you will need your library card barcode number and PIN. Alternatively orders can be faxed to the library.

The Catalogue
The Library Catalogue can be searched at any of the 3 computer terminals located in the library as well as online via the Internet. Our catalogue will allow you to carry out federated searching which means your search query will also simultaneously search on Google and Wikipedia. These results from your search are displayed at the end of the list of Library resources.

Supporting the R.E. program
REU
Within our catalogue you will find that all our Religious Education resources are linked to their respective Religious Education Units (REU) or Catechist Units (CAT). They are labeled with REU or CAT stickers to help clients identify such items.

To find REU & CAT Resources
Each unit in the Religious Education programme K-12 is listed as a subject heading under the acronym REU. Resources suitable for the unit have this heading, e.g.REU – Year 1 – Baptism – I am special
All you need to do is:• Click the Advanced search button, • Select the Subject field, • Type in REU, • Choose which module you want from the drop-down list provided. • Then, all of the Library resources attached to that module will be displayed.
If teachers wish they may then choose a particular resource and electronically book the item for the date they need it. Booked resources will be sent by courier for the required dates.
The same facility applies for Catechists but they need to use the acronym CAT.

What can you borrow?
Up to 10 books for 1 month
Up to 12 audiovisual resources for 2 weeks
If you require items for longer they may be renewed twice over the phone or by email, providing there are no other bookings for that resource.
Membership is FREE for Catholic School Staff or
Tertiary Students and Lecturers involved in tertiary and
accreditation courses in Religious Studies or teaching programs for
Catholic schools.
