“Semi-Pro and Proud” Where Semi-Pro/Minor League Football Legends Live Forever!

Letter from the PresidentGreetings & Welcome to Our 37th Annual Hall of Fame Inductions

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to our 37th Annual Hall of Fame Inductions. We are again extremely honored to acknowledge this year’s inductees and allow them to share with you their journey and contributions to this level of the sport. We are even more excited about the opportunity to again have as our venue this year, the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We encourage you to take in all the museum’s history and enjoy the experiences that it offers.

The enshrinement of this year's class of 19 new hall of famers will see the association’s 37-year total number of inductees expand from 742 members to 761 members. Since the inaugural enshrinement in 1981 (including the Class of 2017) the AFA has recognized 458players; 108 coaches; 87 executives; 32 officials; 25 pioneers; 21 media/historians; 13 trainer/equipment men; 6 associated with youth football; 6 involved with international semi-pro; 4 from the women's level; and even 1 'super fan'.

The annual task of reviewing hundreds of minor league/semi-pro candidates for recognition in the AFA’s Hall of Fame is extremely gratifying. The resulting continued growth of our football family is amazing. It also appears that our product is being recognized as a “best practice” as evidenced by the number of inquiries regarding the AFA’s Hall of Fame and nomination prerequisites.

I want to once again acknowledge our Board of Directors for their guidance and teamwork during our project planning over the past few months. It’s only through their teamwork and cooperation that we can execute this annual project. Our Directors are as follows: Ceil Real, Ronda Real, Craig Ochoa, Dick Leland, Hal & Mary Lockhart, Keith Ballard, Dr. Jordan Kopac, George Ashcraft, and Ralph “Moose” Fahey.

Make sure to take advantage of our official AFA fundraisers such as the raffle and sports memorabilia auction. Also check out our monthly online auction fundraiser (www.biddingforgood.com/AFAWeeklyAuction) for a comprehensive listing of items ranging from exotic vacation getaways to sports memorabilia.

Please notify friends and family that this event is being video streamed live. The webcast can be viewed anywhere on the planet earth by simply clicking the live link on the AFA’s website (AmericanFootballAssn.com). If you would like to give someone a “shout out” during our event, talk with our videographer Steve Weed. As with all previous induction events, this webcast will be archived for posterity.

The American Football Association remains committed to our mission to keep alive the memories of those who have played, coached, officiated and managed at our level of the game. Our ongoing objective is one of ensuring that semi-pro/minor league football participants are remembered forever by their fans, family, teammates and those who follow their football leadership in the future. The most humbling and satisfying part of my job as the organization’s president has been seeing the continued realization of Ron Real’s dreams.

AFA CREED:If you can’t move a mountain . . . then move a grain of sandIf you can’t reach a million people . . . then touch a single handIf you can’t impress them all . . . then impress only those who answer your call Semi-Pro and Proud® is what we are . . . that’s what makes the AFA the best by farRon Real, Founder

Feel free to reach out to our staff during this event with any concerns.

Sincerely, Dave Burch AFA President

Thank you for helping celebrate the American FootballAssociation’s 37th Annual Semi-Pro Football

Hall of Fame Induction Dinner

The AFA is proud of the fact that we are in our 36th year of operation as the national association for Semi-Pro football teams and leagues in the United States. We are a 501(c) tax exempt, non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of the Semi-Pro (adult amateur), non-professional level of America’s greatest sport . . . FOOTBALL!

Our staff is made up completely of volunteers anxious to keep the memories of those who have played, coached, officiated, administrated on the team or league level and, or otherwise contributed to the advancement and awareness of semi-pro football across the country—for more than a century.

Former AFA President and Founder Ron Real with the

Arkush Memorial Cup

Over the past 37 years, the American Football Associationhas inducted 761 individuals that spent most of their footballcareers on the semi-pro level of the sport all for the love ofthegame.Theirunselfishcontributionstoourlevelofthegame will be remembered forever by their fans, family, former teammates, and those who follow their footballleadership in the future.

Thank you for attending and helping us honor the “Class of 2017”
