Provider Letter 20-24
HHSC has published a revised version of Provider Letter 20-24, Phase 1 COVID-19 Visitation Requirements, for ALF, ICF/IID and NF providers.
The revision updates the attestation form 2192 to indicate if a facility is requesting indoor visitation and clarifies that the facility should submit the form to the LTCR Regional Director in the region where the facility is located.

photo of the plexiglass visitation booth
and its location in the facility to the
Regional Director in the LTCR Region in
which the facility is located prior to use.

Emergency Rule §553.2001
Mitigation and Response
An ALF must have:
• A COVID-19 Response Plan;
• PPE; and
• Designated spaces for COVID-19
negative and unknown status.

The ALF must have a COVID-19 response plan that includes designated space for COVID-19 positive residents, when the facility is able to care for a resident at this level or until arrangements can be made to transfer the resident to a higher level of care.

Updated Guidelines for Reporting COVID-19
Providers must:
• Report the first confirmed case of COVID-19 or the first new case of COVID-19 after a facility has been without cases for 14 days or more as a self-reported incident.
• Notify HHSC through TULIP or by calling Complaint and Incident Intake at 800-458-9858
Do not report subsequent cases and addendums to HHSC.

Updated Guidelines for Reporting COVID-19
If you call into CII to report:
Call 800-458-9858. In order to speak with a live agent, providers can dial the toll-free hotline and follow the prompts to get to the provider reporting menu (select a language and then select option 2).
Once in the provider menu, they would press 1 to speak to a live agent. Agents are available from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday.
