Students learn the best when placed in an appropriate academic environment.

At all sites for grades 4th-6th

Students are placed together with designated GATE-cluster teacher for that grade level. Program designed for varying levels of abilities and learning styles.

Minimum Criteria to Apply to APAAS

• B or higher in Math and ELA on 1st

Trimester Report Card

• Proficient or Advanced in both ELA and Math on last year’s CST Scores

2nd Trimester Grades Reviewed During

• B or higher in Math and ELA on 2nd Trimester Progress Report

OLSAT is not a factor with APAAS criteria

APAAS is a District Program. Its purpose is to provide appropriate placement for all potential students.

We do our best to place each student in the school closest to student’s home.

Much depends on other applicants. Some students may not be placed in 1st

choice site.

Impacted sites will only be able to honor students w/i geographicalboundaries established for APAAS.
