Eldyne Was set up more than 50 years ago in response to the call for industrial development of a newly independent India. Fired by idealism and with the spirit of true professionalism, we pioneered indigenous manufacture of wireless receiving sets for our frontline soldiers. In the 1970’s we diversified in switchgears and transformers for the power sector. Then came the signaling relays and the advanced signaling safety systems for the railways.

Train Protection Warning SystemsThales’s European Train Control System(ETCS),popularly known in India as TPWS, is today regarded as an essential aid to railway pilots. This standars-based interoperable system improves security and punctuality, increasing rail traffic capacity. Reacting to track condition information wirelessly uploaded from trackside systems, an on-board computer ensures that permissible speed is not exceeded , nor a danger signal passed by mistake, by bringing the train to a halt automatically, if necessary. Signal aspects and other information are provided to the driver in a form of cab signalling. The TPWS therefore enables pilots to maintain normal schedules even during winter fogs,allowing uninterrupted train movement and increasing route capacity.Systems can be geared for continuous and intermittent train control.

Digital Axle CountersIntroduced in India 1998, Thales digital Axle Counters have demonstrated their worth in over 35,000 installations in 30 countries. In essence, a pair of sensors mounted on the track count the wheels as they pass by measuring the phase reversal and amplitude change as wheels pass over them. Trackside equipment then digitizes the information on the count and direction of the passing wheels. Finally, the microprocessor checks whether entire train has passed ,leaving the track free for the next train.

Eldyne has already commissioned more than 2200 detection points for Thales axle counters in Indian Railways. Eldyne has executed some of the largest yard control schemes in the world using axle-counters; for example – Jabalpur yard with 123 detection points , Satna yard with 74 detection points.

We have achieved very high equipment MTBF for Thales axle counters in India, resulting in a boost in the operational performance for the users.
