Substitute Assignment in Web Access - Overview

The Substitute Assignment module is used to allow substitute teachers access to input attendance and/or grades via Educator Access without using the actual teacher’s login information. • Substitute assignments can be created for one day or for a range of days.

• When substitute teachers are needed, they must be entered into the Skyward Staff table and then given security rights.

• It is recommended that substitutes who will work in multiple entities be entered into the 000 Entity as a Staff Member. This avoids having to add the substitute into every entity in which they work.

• In order for a substitute to use Educator Access they must be a Security User in the Skyward system. The substitute must be attached to a security group for every entity in which they substitute.

Busing in Web AccessOverview

• The Busing module allows you to manage all aspects of students’ transportation. This includes transportation to and from school during a regular day and transportation for activities such as sporting events and field trips.

• Students’ transportation information can be maintained from both the Busing module and the Student Profile. You can create Routes and Stops, and assign students to them so that you know when and where students get on and off the bus.

• The Busing module contains several utilities to assist you in managing large numbers of student Transportation Records. For example, you can use the Mass Change Student Route Number utility to move a range of students from one Route to another. This is useful if your district reorganizes their Routes from one year to the next.

Page 30: Welcome to Student News 1:00 – 2:00 (call in 12:30) Please MUTE your microphones!

Busing in Web AccessOverview

• You can list a student’s Bus Numbers in their Student Profile, and then display this information in Family Access. The Bus Numbers can be manually entered, or you can set a configuration option to update the Bus Numbers automatically.

• The Busing module also provides several reports that can help you track students’ transportation information. The Bus Route Report, for example, can be configured to show a complete listing of all Routes, Stops, and the students at each Stop. This is helpful when you need to create a hard copy of your district’s busing information to keep on file.
