Welcome to St. Peter! While we celebrate the rich history of our parish, we strive to pro-mote the promise of the future through the Four Pillars of Domini-can Spirituality— Prayer, Study, Community and Preaching.

3rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (B) Jonah 3: 1-5, 10; Psalm 25; I Cor 7: 29-31; Mark 1: 14-20 Reflection by Jude Siciliano,OP

From today’s Gospel reading: This is the time of fulfillment.

The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe the gospel.

Reflection:

In Jesus’ language "repentance" means to make 180° change of direction

in our lives. He challenges us to rethink our notion of who God is and

how God acts towards us in the light of our sins. In Jesus, God is break-

ing into our worlds of isolation and indifference and calling us to faith in

Christ. In sum, repentance asks that we make a complete turnaround in

our lives towards God.

So we ask ourselves:

What redirection and big change must I make in my life?

What will be the first step towards that kind of change?

Are you coming to the Called and Gifted Workshop?

Do you find yourself overwhelmed by your commitments? If you have a good sense of which spiritual gifts you have to offer others, it will be easier to make decisions, set priorities, and focus your ener-gy. The workshop is Feb. 20-21, and the cost is $10 (for lunch). Register in the back of the church or on the parish website.

Thanks to Kay Clark for coordinating this and arranging for the Hub to be open for us to visit.
