Welcome to Social Media Tips
This lesson will discuss posting on Facebook
As a business owner on Facebook, it’s easy to simply post ads and promos all day and think you are doing what you should be doing, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Facebook Posting Tips
The truth is, social networking is about, well, socializing. No one wants to see a crappy photo of a crab cake or out of focus pizza with a caption that reads, “Check it out”
Facebook Posting Tips
It’s not about you or your product. It’s about your fans.
Socialize on social media, and sell on your website!
By socializing and engaging with your fans, you will build trust and confidence which will lead to sales.
Facebook Posting Tips
Your objective on social media is to educate your fans, not bore them. You need to be the source, the go to person, the educator.
And how do you do that?
Facebook Posting Tips
Share industry related links
Ask engaging questions
Share behind the scene photos/videos of your business
Post a “Tip of the week”
Share a news story but avoid commenting on politics and religion
Facebook Posting Tips
Post something educational that will help your fans.
Share a funny photo and ask fans to caption the photo.
Post an inspirational quote related to your industry.
On Friday, ask your fans what their weekend plans are.
You with me?
Facebook Posting Tips
Think about your ideal customer. Here are some questions you’ll need to ask yourself about this person:
Are they male or female?
How old are they?
Where do they live?
Are they single or married?
What are their interest? Find this on Facebook Insights
Facebook Posting Tips
Knowing as much about your customers will make it easier to generate posting ideas and improve your engagement with them.
Facebook Posting Tips
You should be posting 2-3 times a day if possible.
If I visit your page and see your last post was 4 weeks ago, I’m gone.
Facebook Posting Tips
Use Facebook's scheduling tool to schedule post in advance. This gives you time to think about what to say instead of a sporadic post.
Facebook Posting Tips
It is acceptable for 10% of your messages to be self-promotion. That’s 1 out of every 10 posts
