Network ArchitectureNetwork ArchitectureRemote Units (RUs) RUs are connected via fiber links to provide the
connections required for voice and data information transfer
RUs are used when the system grows beyond the capacity of a single port network
RUs are used to serve geographically dispersed offices
RUs provide additional ports as needed

Processor Port Network (PPN) Switch Processing Element (SPE)The SPE contains the central processing unit,
which supervises system operation. It also contains a mass storage system for loading system software and saving system translations
Center Stage Switch (CSS) The CSS is a connection hub that provides port
network communication to allow for growth
Network ArchitectureNetwork Architecture OFC and UTP Backbone OFC has been laid as the back bone for data networkingThese OFCs are Single Mode Fiber (SMF)These OFCs are Multi Mode Fiber (MMF)As a backbone around 100 Kms. of OFC has been laid150 Kms. Of JFC has been laid with Structured cabling for
Voice & Data nodesThrough OFC DEFINITY G3r EPABX is connected to 12
remote units

MDF and IDF Patch Panels Endpoint (Analog or Digital)Subscriber lines are coming from RUs and these
lines are connected at MDF & IDF and then carried by JFC cable to the distribution panel.
From Distribution Panel / Patch Panel through CAT-5 Cable (UTP Cabling) it goes to the end subscriber

GSWAN Project Description:
GSWAN is a network owned by Government of Gujarat for their Voice, Video and Data Communication needs. This network is
spread in All Dist. And Taluka of Gujarat Gandhinagar connecting almost all the Govt. Boards & Corporations Offices.
For Voice Nortel and Alcatel EPABX system is used. At New Sachivalaya Nortel 61C EPABX with the capacity of 1000 Lines and 60 trunks, At Old Sachivalaya Nortel 11C EPABX with the capacity of 300 line and 60 trunks, At District level Nortel 11C
EPABX with the capacity of 176 lines and 30 trunks, At Ahmedabad District Alcatel Omni PCX 4400 with capacity of 176 lines and 30 trunks and Taluka level Centrex EPABX with 8 lines and 2 trunks are used. Other then Remote Cisco and Audio code
ATA are used for Voice connections.
All EPABX are connected in SWAN Network and these Voice connections only for GSWAN Intranet. In GSWAN One SDC to 26 District connected with 34Mbps in Mesh Topology and all 225 Taluka to respective Districts connected with 10Mbps bandwidth. GSWAN Intranet voice is working on Cisco Gateway and Gatekeeper Technology.
