WEATHERAs you may know, it will be summer in brazil when you arrive. In brazil December and January are the hottest months OF THE YEAR, weather is tropical hot, THERE IS A LOT OF SUN, BUT IT RAINS A LOT TOO.

the averAge tempErature during the day is around 30°C, but during the night it can go

down to 18°C. so Don’t forget your sweater, sunscreen, hat and raincoat!!

“Discovered” by the Portuguese in 1500, brazil was used exclusively to produce

natural resources for Europeain countries, but this situation changed after brazil

became an independent country, peacefully, in 1822. Nowadays, brazil is the 5th largest

country in the world with a population of ABOUT 200 million people, the result of a

big cultural and racial mixture. It is actually hard to say who looks like a Brazilian,

BEcause we’ve got all sorts of races and looks! You will certainly notice this in our

tours around Sao Paulo. brazil is a country of diversity and hapiness and you will be

impressed with how different it is from what you thought!

SÃO PAULO

The biggest Brazilian city, São Paulo, is actually also the largest city of the whole

southern hemisphere!!! Quite impressive!! With around 20 million INHabitants, the urban

area of São Paulo is the economic heart of the country! Many historical places,

hundreds of museums and theatres, São Paulo is also known for being the cultural

capital of Brazil. In its streets you can see exactly how Brazil was created with all

the international immigrants’ suburbs, the Japanese Borough (you might feel you’re in

Japan), the Italian Borough (great place to eat a traditional pizza) and many others.

For sure you guys will have a chance to see a little bit of it during our village. Just

a little bit though, because NOT even the staff has seen it all yet!!!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT BRAZIL

(about one hour away), at the wonderful Santa

Eufrasia camp site.

It's immersed in 30,000 square meters of green

AREA and really clean air. The structure

includes dining room, activity rooms, outdoor

areas, soccer field, multi sport courts,

swimming pool, plenty of rooms for everyone,

great kitchen staff, bathrooms, National Night

stage and plenty of space for us to have fun and

learn from each other.

WHY B.O.X.???The name B.O.X. stands for "Beyond Our boX", while "our

box" means "our mind" and also our camp.

Inside the B.O.X. Village, our main goals will be:

1 - To have A LOT OF FUN, while we think outside

the box!!!

2 - To think   "Beyond Our Box"  and find out how we can take a better care of the planet!

Be ready to learn, teach, make friends and take many IDEAS

back home.

MORE INFO

WHAT’S CISV?

Over the years these Programmes have provided opportunities for thousands of par

ticipants to meet and develop friendships with people from different countries,

backgrounds and cultures. All CISV Programmes have a Peace education focus, which we

use to inspire our participants to become Active Global Citizens. As CISV continues to

grow around the world we remain united as an organisation by our educational

principles. These reflect the way we think and behave:

Our Educational Principles

- We appreciate the similarities between people and value their differences.

- We support social justice and equality of opportunity for all.

- We encourage the resolution of conflict through peaceful means.

- We support the creation of sustainable solutions to problems relating to our impact

upon each other and the natural environment.

Our Educational Principles form a bridge between our Statement of Purpose and our

focus on Peace Education. Programmes combine our Educational Principles with Peace

Education to promote inclusion, social justice, non-violent resolution of conflict and

sustainable development. They also help to develop an awareness of how each of us can

take action towards a more just and peaceful world. In addition to our Programmes

we also contribute to research and work with organisations worldwide whose goals

are similar to ours.

For more information, check our official website is at www.cisv.org.

CISV educates and inspires action for a more just and

peaceful world. Since 1951, CISV has been offering a

range of local

activities, international camps, family-hosted exchanges

and community-based projects. These are known as our

‘Programmes’ and every year our volunteers organise

them for young people and adults from over 60

countries.

programme and is still its flagship. Delegates to this multilingual and

multicultural experience participate in a mix of educational, cultural and sporting

activities, which emphasise cooperative global and intercultural living.
