-Discussed how diabetes educators can contribute to better management of glycemic control, how they can partner with patient to improve adherence and how they can assist the transition of adolescent patients to adult diabetes care

-Review of DPP and results-University of Pittsburg (site for DPP) has Group Lifestyle Balance program, curriculum for a 12 wk series to prevent diabetes, also includes 4 core transitions sessions-Online curriculum, videos, ongoing support- Training, U of Pittsburg.-Sutter Health, Northern California, using curriculum -Intent - get the program to the community, be creative for location-

• Mindless Eating to Mindlessly Eating Better; Brian Wansink, PhD (AADE)

- Evidence, smaller plate, smaller bowl, skinnier cup, positioning of food on table or in pantry can help to eating less.-Initiatives to help children in schools choose healthier choices. -1 hr CEU on website www.smarterlunchroom.org ; lunchroom changes , $50 or less, affects what children choose.
