Partnership with parents
Children’s behaviour We try to run the Club with a minimum of rules and
regulations, but those we do have are based on common
sense and a realistic approach to children of this age
range. Here is a sample:
Language Swearing, provocation and rudeness to
either staff or to other children is not acceptable in any
form. Aggression Children will not fight, push, hurt or
pretend to hurt one another.
Minibus Children must always wear seat-belts in the
Minibus and stay seated until the engine is turned off
and the bus is stationary.
Supervision Children must play only in the areas
agreed by the supervising staff and not wander off.
Toilets Children under 8 years old will be
accompanied by a member of staff. Children over 8
years old may use the toilet by themselves but always
inform a member of staff that s/he is going or has
returned from the toilet.
We encourage Children to be helpful, share, have
consideration for others, to respect Club equipment
and property and to tidy away after themselves.
If, after due consultation with parents, a child continues to
behave in an unacceptable way then we reserve the right
to terminate the place without further notice.
Whether they are indoors or
out doors the children will
always get
lots of
physical
activity at
Jumping
Jack’s.
Drinks are
available
to keep
children
well
hydrated
during all this excitement...!
The most important factors in allocation of places are ensuring that
we keep within the regulation staff/children ratios each session for
each age group and that we are able to match up part-time places.
To book a place simply telephone us first to check availability, then
fill in the Reservation Form and send in with the first week’s fees.
If registering with us for the first time then please complete both the
Child Registration & Authorisation to Collect forms and also send
the one-off £15 Registration Fee. We will then return a copy of the
Reservation Form as a receipt and as confirmation of your place.
The law requires us to keep specific and up to date
information in a number of areas, which means that
you are required to:
Inform us of any changes on your Child registration Form
Tell us if you are not at your usual location (home/work) and give us a telephone number
where you can be contacted in an emergency.
Keep your child at home if he/she has an infectious disease, diarrhea, vomiting and/or a
high temperature.
Authorise us to give prescribed medication and to sign our records every time that you
collect your child. Medication must be handed to a member of staff for safe keeping.
Sign our accident records if we advise you of an accident involving your child.
Collect your child promptly at the end of a session to ensure that we keep to legal
staff/child ratios.
Complete a ‘Consent Form’ for your child for each external trip away from the Club.

Payment of Fees
The vast majority of our parents pay each month’s fees in accordance with the
terms and conditions laid out in the reservation agreement which they signed
when starting at the nursery. Most parents pay monthly by direct debit. Others
pay at the beginning of each payment period by cash or debit card.
Invoices are issued monthly and cover a four or five weekly payment amount.
All months are four week payment periods except for June, September,
December and March which are five week payment periods. Your invoice
shows the weeks covered by the fee that is due. Each new payment period
ALWAYS starts before the current calendar month end. Direct Debits are
collected on the first working day of each month. For other payment methods
fees are due before the payment period in question commences.
Unfortunately we seem to be spending an excessive amount of time chasing a
small number of outstanding fees throughout the month. Not only does this
detract from our more important duties with the children but it also has a
negative impact on our cash flow. Nurseries are small businesses without access
to large credit facilities and any shortfall in fees often means we incur higher
bank charges because we must pay our staff and suppliers rigidly without fail.
We are also aware that late payment of fees can quickly become large
household debts which snowball and become difficult to repay.
In these difficult times we feel it is necessary to remind parents of the need to
abide by their original agreement. Please do not feel offended when our staff
request payment if you have not paid by the first week in the current payment
period. They would rather not have to do so but it is essential for the financial
health of the nursery. For those very few parents who persistently fail to pay
fees on time we reserve the right to operate a ‘no pay, no stay’ policy.
Parents who pay via Direct Debit enjoy our most competitive rates. The saving
over the cash rate can amount to a significant saving over the course of a year.
If you would like to move to direct debit then please ask for a Direct Debit
mandate form from the manager.
