Service Above Self We meet Thursdays at 12:00 PM New Location: Rodeway Inn 1701 North Lake Avenue Estes Park, CO 80517 United States District Site Venue Map Posted by Guy Van der Werf Our Sept. 15 program: fighting weekend hunger Terry Leija Terry Leija, teacher and outgoing president of the Estes Park Education Association, will speak at the Rotary Club of Estes Park on Thursday, September 15, at their regular noon meeting. He will discuss efforts by EPEA to combat food insecurity and hunger in Estes Park students. Please note the change in location for Rotary Club meetings. During the 2015-2016 school year, EPEA started the Estes Pak program, a supplemental food program. EPEA provides meals for students and families who need food on weekends throughout the school year. Leija has served as coordinator of the program. Leija is a second grade teacher at the Estes Park Elementary School. He has taught in Estes Park for over 20 years. Our Sept. 15 program: fighting weekendhunger

Terry Leija, teacher and outgoing president of the Estes ParkEducation Association, will speak at the Rotary Club of Estes Park onThursday, September 15, at their regular noon meeting. Sept. 8 meeting notes

President Thor Homme called the meeting to order at noon atRodeway Inn, the second meeting in our new location. Rev. EarlMatson gave the invocation; Dave Evans led us in a song and thePledge; and Debbie Delaney introduced guests. They included:Sojourner Frank Haines from Texas and his son, Dr. Mark Haines ofHawaii; and Kathy and Gary Sampson from Branson, Missouri. WardNelson shared a humorous story about Thor’s driving.

Volunteers are needed at The Farmers Market. ContactChuck Bonza.Volunteers are needed at ElkFest to serve beer. Contact ScottThompson.The first meeting in the new location went well, with thanks toKarol Rinehart. The sound system issue has been addressedand there is now a double line for the buffet.Duck Race meetings will begin in October. Stay tuned for anannouncement from Big Duck Gregg Jurgens.Any suggestions for the old piano? Contact Thor Homme.The annual Shred-a-Thon will take place on Saturday, Oct.15, in the parking lot of the Event Center. E-recycling will notbe available. The Shred-a-Thon benefits our scholarship fund.Collect your shred-ables.Dues payment is needed from five members.

Shred-a-Thon Oct. 15: Clean your desk,help scholars

Is it weighing you down? Keeping you from having a clean office, aneat desk or a clutter-free storage room? Tired of feeding papers toyour puny shredder, three sheets at a time? The Rotary Club of EstesPark can help you reach those paper-free goals! Come and contribute your excess paperwork at the Estes ParkRotary Club Shred-a-Thon on Saturday, October 15. You can drop offyour items between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. or until the truck is full. Justdrive to the Event Center parking lot off of Manford Avenue in EstesPark.

“Community shred days are part of our commitment to the preventionof identity theft and our support for recycling,” said Tara Moenning,event coordinator. Items appropriate for shredding are:

Old bank statements,Credit card offers,Cancelled checks,Old medical records,Paycheck stubs, orAnything with your personal information.

Clips, staples, and binders do not need to be removed. While there is no charge, a generous donation would be appreciated,
