HomeworkYour child will have homework several nights a week. Homework and upcoming events are listed on the Team

Integrity webpage. Grades can be accessed through HAC.Homework is not graded, but students will receive a

missed assignment notice. This is to keep parents informed.

In addition to regular reading, your child will bring home assignments that reinforce concepts from various content areas.

Your child will write assignments in the assignment book, and it will need to be checked by a parent.

Homework is important because it reinforces the concepts taught, and establishes responsibility and organizational skills for later grades.

Please develop a homework routine that will be consistent and comfortable for both you and your child.

Sanity savers Organization – Ask your child to make a

stop sign for the inside of the front door with a list for him/her to check: Lunch? Instrument? Homework? Assignment book? Special needs for special classes? Discuss where your child should go if there is an emergency school closing and you can’t be reached.

Make sure your child memorizes your work phone number as well as your home number.

Page 17: Welcome to Open House 2015-2016 School Year Team integrity.

Sanity savers Insist that your child lay out tomorrow’s

school clothes and load his/her backpack the night before.

Establish “school night” television rules and stick to them.

Hang a sturdy bag labeled “Library Books” to keep them separated from other books in the house. When it’s library day, your child knows exactly where they are.

Cut down on forgotten and lost homework by telling your child that his/her assignment is not finished until it’s in your backpack.
