Counselors Center

Narcoossee Middle School has three counselors: Mrs Villegas Mrs McAllister Mr Yeda

Counselors can help with academic and/or personal concerns. Students can meet with counselors by scheduling an appointment in the Counseling Center, Building 5.

AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) ensures that all students will succeed in a rigorous curriculum, complete a college preparatory path, and increase enrollment in four-year colleges.

Electives are scheduled for students aftercore classes have been placed into the schedule.

The scheduling team will be coming to East Lake Elementary on Jan 27 and Narcoossee Elementary on Jan 28 to complete and collect elective interest courses. Students will bring one copy of their completed form home to parents that day.

Middle School is a time when students can explore and expand their interest. In order to help each student have an awareness and appreciation for the world around us, we offer classes to different grade level so that each student can explore a variety of educational opportunities during the school day before entering high school. At this time we plan to offer the following opportunities for the 2020-21 school year:

Please be aware that many courses are full year long and understand that if you have a full year course it may be considered as your PE waiver, if necessary. There may be financial responsibilities associated with some courses for uniforms or supplies. Please see the reverse side of this form for additional course information.

Your top three choices will be listed with a #1 and your next choice should be listed as a #2, then #3. Core classes will be scheduled first and are based upon FSA scores.

How can parents get involved?

SAC—School Advisory Council– A group made up of parents, teachers, administration and community members. They review the school improvement plan and allocate money for school wide programs that fit into the plan.

schedule many events throughout the year and you can volunteer at any time.

Both groups meet on the first Thursday of the month in the media center.

First meeting for next year is September, but you can join us this year as well at our February 6th meeting.
