Welcome to Math Team 6-1 2014/2015 School Year. Mr. Johnk Slide 2 About Me! Originally from Minnesota Moved to Texas 19 years ago This is my 12th year at McMath Slide 3 My desk area is off limits! If you need something from my desk area- ask dont take! (Stapler or 3hole punch) Slide 4 Bring a note! Whenever you are absent from school, upon your return you must bring a note to give to Mrs. Frank at the attendance window before school! Mrs. Frank Slide 5 Make up work is your responsibility! Pink calendar has all assignments missed. You can also check my webpage! Slide 6 Fill in restroom log Slide 7 Math class expectations Pay attention in class Give me 5! Ask good questions Take good notes Do homework on time Prepare for tests/quizzes Slide 8 Grading Grading will be referenced to the standards. TEKS Opportunity to re-submit or re- test for a higher grade. Not an excuse to not do homework or study for tests! Slide 9 Stuff good to know Keep to the right in the hallway Walk- dont run. (You can walk quickly!) Rulers, glue sticks, and scissors are in tubs at back of room Respect the rulers, they are not toys! (drumming them will break them) Slide 10 Wear your ID at all times except PE! If you dont have your ID, you will need to get a sticker from the front office The sticker will result in a lunch detention Sticker will set you back 25 cents! Slide 11 Tardy If you are tardy, you will be given warnings for the first two per semester. I record it in the gradebook. I call home on 3 rd tardy Office referral on 4 th tardy! You will have a grace period before we enforce tardies! Slide 12 Special passes Yellow get out of class pass Turn in note before school for appointments! Sign out at time to leave at attendance window.
