Welcome to Church If you are visiting us today, please make yourself at home. Take some time to fill in the ‘Welcome Form’ at the back of this bulletin and place it in the offering bag as we would love to get to know you better. The amenities and baby change facilities are found in the foyer area of the church and there is also a quiet room located at the back corner of the church.

After the service, please join us for morning tea.

Who are we:

At Lower Clarence Presbyterian Church we value the Bible as the Word of God.

We believe that there is only one true God, that Jesus Christ the only Son of God, lived, died and rose again for the forgiveness and reconciliation of his people, that he now rules with God and he will return again in judgment to restore all things.

We value prayer, recognizing God's authority by his Holy Spirit over all things and we embrace practical demonstrations of Christ centered love.

We welcome all people to join us in our many activities.

Mission Minute - SRE Term 3, 2014. Co-Ordinator, Kim Zietsch. Scripture in our Public Primary schools is about to start term 3 next week. Currently all classes are being covered by 24 voluntary scripture teachers, helpers and casuals. Please thank God in your prayers for this wonderful blessing. There is however always room for more teachers. Currently all NSW Government Primary Schools allow SRE classes to be taught for 30 min each week. The permanent class teacher is normally present during the lesson and is there for support and assistance if needed. The material currently being used by the Scripture teachers is called “GodSpace”. It is fantastic resource that is easy to follow, well written and relevant to today’s children. Lessons can consist of games, music, drama, team work, craft and bookwork. People that are wanting to teach Scripture have to complete Accreditation training, be authorised by their church minister, complete Child Protection training and apply for a Working with Children Check Number. This year the Education Department will be conducting a review of all SRE being taught in Primary schools across NSW. Hence the great importance that Christian SRE is seen as well organised, caring and professional in their approach. In the past, all children were allocated to a Scripture class unless the parents advised otherwise. However now, the new DEC process is that the parent must indicate on the enrolment form that they would like their child to attend scripture. This will have a flow on effect on the number of children that will be in classes for the future.

Please pray: • For the Department of Education review process that is imminent and

that God would allow the doors to remain open, so that the Gospel message can be heard by our future generation of children.

• That the schools will remain supportive of scripture classes and the SRE teachers.

• That the children will be receptive to what they learn in Scripture. • For the parents of children attending our public schools that they would

allow their children to attend scripture classes.
