Leeuwarden is very easy to travel. There is a very good train connection between

Schiphol Airport/Amsterdam and Leeuwarden.

Leeuwarden will host the ICAR and Interbull 2020 Conference. The central theme of this

event will be circular economy, and its impact and challenges in animal performance

recording.

Friesland was once the nursery of the Friesian cows. These were exported in

large numbers in the 19th and 20th century and served as the basis for the world-

wide population of Holstein Friesian cows. Visiting the ICAR 2020 Conference in

Leeuwarden is more than just visiting a regular ICAR or Interbull Conference, it’s

WTC-EXPOThe ICAR and Interbull 2020 Conference will be held at the WTC-Expo in Leeuwarden. The WTC-Expo, judged to be the second best congress venue of The Netherlands, is the largest event complex of the Northern Netherlands, offering style and appeal for minor as well as major congresses and events.

The ultra modern congress centre on the edge of the inner city is among the best equipped in The Netherlands. The WTC is particularly suitable for meetings and plenary sessions of up to 800 guests. The expo halls are able to facilitate 2,500 participants. There are vip rooms, a press centre, as well as 20 meeting rooms in the congress venue for parallel sessions. Moreover, there are different facilities for simultaneous interpretation in several languages.

The WTC parking area offers free parking to over 3,300 vehicles of congress visitors. The adjacent Westcord WTC Hotel has 143 rooms.
