It is flexible based on the learning preferences of the pupil, as everyone learns differently and at a varied pace. A full list of the stages and topics is viewable on my website. We will use detailed pupil records to track your progress through this syllabus and create lesson plans which you can contribute towards. PRICE STRUCTURE 2018 Hourly Rate : £30 (£60 per 2 hour lesson) Buy 10 hours and get an extra hour free Pass Plus : £195 Motorway (2.5 hours) : £75 I default to 2 hour lessons, as shorter lessons can be quite restrictive. Do feel free to ask me about this. The only time I recommend a shorter lesson is if someone becomes tired from standard lessons. Extended lessons are also available up to 6 hours (full day plus a 1 hour break with free lunch). Full details can be found on my website. Late lesson cancellations may incur a charge (although I tend to be quite lenient). My name is Rob and I am an experienced Nottingham ADI specialising in teaching individuals with learning difficulties, special needs and anxiety.
Everyone learns differently and at a varied pace. Tuition throughout the driving course is tailored to the individual.
HEALTH CONDITIONSWhen you applied for your provisional driving licence you would have been asked to declare any health conditions. Examples of what could be declarable include ADHD, Aspergers syndrome, bipolar disorder, deafness, diabetes, epilepsy, vision problems, vertigo and limb disability. TIMESCALE
UK statistics show it takes on average 47 hours of professional tuit ion (and 20+ hours private practice) to complete a full modern driving syllabus and competently pass a driving test, ensuring you are ready to drive safely for the rest of your life (although the learning process for all drivers is lifelong). The pace of the course will always be adapted to the learning needs of the individual.
OPTIMAL LEARNING
To make the most of your learning time it is important to start lessons prepared and fully awake. It is never a good idea to turn up sleepy having just woken up, as this will impair learning. It goes without saying you must never turn up for lessons with alcohol or drugs in your system (bear this in mind the night before your lesson). Take a responsible attitude towards being ready to learn and ready to drive.
ABOUT ME
I qualified as a driving instructor in 2005. I am highly involved in the industry as an active member of DING (Driving Instructors Nottingham Group), the DTT forum (Driver Training Today) and the UKDIC (UK Driving Instructors Confederation). Through these groups and a lot of ongoing self-study, myself and other driving instructors invest in training courses to develop our teaching skills and expand our knowledge and experience. I read the latest driver education/training publications and am occasionally on radio discussing driving related issues. I abide by the official ADI Code of Conduct and am passionate about my profession. My full details including my CPD (Continued Professional Development) are available on my website. I mainly specialise in supporting learners who have special / specific needs or suffer from anxiety.
