The Tattu story

Tattu is an independent family run business founded in 2015 by two brothers. The Tattu brand set out with a clear vision – to bring something unique and exciting to the UK culinary scene. The word

Tattu is derived from a combination of ‘Tattoo’ the art form that inspires our interiors and ‘Tatau’ which is an ancient word from eastern culture that means to ‘make a mark’. The goal was to build a customer

experience around the brand that stimulates all senses, fusing beautiful and meaningful design with quality and innovative cooking.

Tattu delivers contemporary Chinese cuisine, fusing traditional flavours with modern cooking methods and exquisite presentation

to create a unique and exciting dining experience.

Diners are encouraged to embrace the customary approach of sharing dishes with their guests, from colourful dim sum and luxurious small

plates to contemporary main course dishes and stunning desserts. Each seasonal menu is created by Tattu’s talented chefs utilising

only premium ingredients sourced from carefully selected suppliers, delivered by highly-trained front of house teams with a strong focus

on meticulous and engaging customer service.

Tattu’s award-winning approach to interior design ensures that each venue is entirely unique in its aesthetic. Each restaurant is carefully designed to take guests on a sensory journey from the traditional

East to the modern West. Through a painstaking attention to detail, every single element has a purpose and a connection with the

identity of each restaurant.

Tattu has sourced the most beautiful natural materials from all over the world and commissioned artwork from talented artists to help tell the story of the brand, while always paying tribute to the

character of the cities it has opened its doors in.

The ‘u’ in Tattu represents all that is unique about each restaurant. From the dishes served, to the drinks created and the attention to detail you will see in each venue. Much like the overarching

inspiration – no two Tattus are ever the same.

Whether you’re looking for an elegant reception complete with stunning cocktails and dim sum canapés; a space for a corporate meeting or event followed by a signature dining experience, or a private dining room for an intimate celebration with friends and

family – Tattu’s skilled team of event co-ordinators will work with you to provide a bespoke quotation and help manage the finer

details for a successful day or evening.

Tattu has built a valuable network of trusted suppliers from florists and room dressers to musicians and performers that can add a truly

unique touch to your special occasion. Ask your co-ordinator for a recommendation and the team will gladly make the arrangements

for your event.

Dietary requirements

Tattu would like to ensure all your guests can be catered for with the attention to detail and quality of service the restaurants have

built a reputation for delivering.

Guests are kindly asked to confirm any dietary requirements, allergies or special requests no less than 48 hours’ notice prior to dining to

ensure the kitchen team is able to prepare dishes as required.

Guests with severe allergies or intolerances should be aware that while all due care is taken, there is a risk of allergen ingredients still

being present. Please note, any bespoke orders requested cannot be guaranteed as entirely allergen free and will be consumed at the

guest’s own discretion.

Tattu’s first restaurant opened in Spinningfields in 2015. The restaurant is set over two floors and tells the story of the journey of body art from its roots in ancient eastern cultures across the

seas to the west and its influence on today’s society.

The Rose Garden large party area is suited to parties of up to 24 people. The grand marble table seats up to 14 people with a

further adjacent table seating up to 10 people. This is the perfect entertaining space for guests wanting to enjoy the music

and atmosphere of the bar area.

The first-floor restaurant features the original Tattu cherry blossom tree, as well as intimate booth dining. Each booth seats up to 6 people, with booths under the cherry blossom designed to host parties of 8 guests. From the first floor restaurant, admire the

breath taking views from the elegant glass walkway overlooking the Rose Garden and main bar area below.

The Parlour is Tattu’s private dining room and exclusive event space. The space is serviced by its own entrance, bar and restrooms,

whilst one-way glass offers complete privacy for the dining room with a view into the scenic Rose Garden and main restaurant above. The Parlour can accommodate between 15 and 40 guests for seated

dining, or up to 80 guests for a canapé event.

The Parlour also benefits from a bespoke performance booth that can be used to entertain guests before, during or after your event.

The Rose Garden

The ground floor indoor Rose Garden is perfect for group bookings of between 10 and 30 looking for a more lively and integrated occasion. Each booth seats 6 guests under the unique anchor

pendants that cement Manchester as the brand’s home city, with a further booth seating up to 9 guests. In total, the The Rose Garden

and bar can seat up to 60 people or 100 people standing for a canapé event or drinks reception.

Tattu opened its second restaurant in Leeds in June 2017 in the prestigious East Parade area of the city centre. The restaurant

depicts the progression of body art and the delicate line work and techniques used today through its use of beautiful natural

materials and intricate finishes.

The restaurant is set over two floors with an intimate bar area on the ground floor, complete with large restaurant space and the

stunning White Rose Garden terrace.

The Mezzanine

To the mezzanine level, you will find tables set among delicate branches of cherry blossom, with a view over a glass balcony to

the restaurant and bar below.

Private Dining

The private dining room is also located on the mezzanine and can seat up to 16 diners around its elegant glass table, with traditional fretwork screens that allow for privacy or for a glimpse into the

main restaurant itself, depending on your preference.

The White Rose Garden Terrace

The White Rose Garden is Leeds’ second private dining space which can seat up to 20 diners exclusively under a state-of-the-art retractable roof. There are also 4 outside tables in the courtyard,

making it perfect for al fresco dining on those warmer days.

Tattu Birmingham is the third and largest restaurant in our collection. Regenerating a space in such a prestigious local building has been an incredibly exciting process and one that warranted a

great deal of consideration. Every Tattu is unique and we wanted to create a completely new customer journey within our Birmingham

restaurant. Interpreting our ‘Modern Chinese’ concept into this special building allowed us to look at new avenues of design and led

to the exploration of the ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin Yang, the blending of contrary forces to create harmony.

Ground Floor ‘Yin’

Yin is the dark element linked with femininity, shadows and water. Much like all Tattu interiors, our main restaurant downstairs

represents ‘Yin’, it is detailed in feminine finishes, including our salvaged cherry trees that are brought back to life by hand to

create a canopy of blossom throughout the space. Our traditional wooden fretwork and carefully styled lighting casts shadows and

creates the effect of waterfalls down our granite walls.

First Floor ‘Yang’

Yang is the light element linked with masculinity, growth and fire. This new design is featured in our ground floor bar and dining areas. Utilising light natural materials and imported stone the

space represents the growth of our family business into new realms offering a new take on the traditional Tattu design. Polished brass

reflects light to create a warm glow through-out, the perfect environment to relax with one of our signature cocktails.

Tattu Edinburgh is the fourth and latest addition to the group, set in the heart of Scotland’s stunning capital city. Located on West Register Street, you’ll find Tattu’s most intimate venue to date. In keeping with the regeneration of the prestigious development, the space is inspired by the rich historic and

contemporary characteristics of its Edinburgh home, as well as those found in Chinese culture, interior design and

across art forms.

The large party area is perfect for groups looking for a lively and integrated occasion. Set across two large round feature

tables at the head of the restaurant, this space can seat between 14-18 guests under the intimate canopy of our signature cherry blossoms. Our largest table seats up to a maximum of 9 guests. Larger groups can be accommodated over two adjacent tables.

The restaurant is set on a single level with a stunning reception and bar area leading through to the main dining room, which can

seat up to 130 guests. The restaurant provides a truly unique location for a special occasion, offering guests a taste of

traditional meets contemporary. Canapé events are available for up to 150 guests.

No matter the occasion from Chinese New Year or Valentine’s Day through to birthdays, anniversaries and graduation, Tattu’s sharing menus are perfect for parties of all sizes to experience the essence

of its culinary concept.

Tattu’s signature sharing menus are priced from £40 per person for a four-wave feast starting with light bites, small plates, main dishes

and a selection of desserts to share, offering diners a taste of all that Tattu has to offer. The sharing menus are available for parties

of two or more.

The festive season at Tattu is an extraordinary affair and a unique experience to be shared with colleagues, clients, friends and family. Tattu’s permanently unique Christmas packages are the only way to celebrate in style. From intimate dining arrangements through

to an exclusive festive party; the team understands the importance of seasonal celebrations and can help make your event the most

talked about occasion of the year.

With sharing menus starting from £40 per person for a three-course feast, you’ll find anything but the traditional pigs in blankets and

roast turkey at your table. Dine on dishes such as chicken Xiao long bao dim sum, fillet steak with caramel soy and finishing with an

indulgent chocolate fondant dessert. It really is the perfect menu for an alternative seasonal celebration.
