Variety in Technology Use
Developing your students’ different learning styles.
Technology is a tremendous help in varying lesson tasks.
![Page 18: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)

Infusing Technology into an Existing Lesson Plan
A Step-by-StepApproach
COS - page 36
![Page 20: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Examine the Activity
First decide whether technology should be added or not.
Ask yourself: What value will technology add to my lesson?
Think about how technology can support and improve student learning.
COS - page 37
![Page 21: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Rewrite the Activity
Revise your goals to reflect changes due to technology infusion.
Consider the following: What skills will your students need to know? How will students be grouped?
COS - page 38
![Page 22: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Prepare Your Materials
Prepare the materials you need, such as: instructional materials, handouts, and assessments.
It is important to provide students with clear, concise, step-by-step directions for every aspect of the activity.
COS - page 39
![Page 23: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Create a Schedule
Create a schedule that allows students maximum use of technology resources. When will the computers be available? What off-computer activities will students be
doing when computers are in use? What must students complete before they
work on the computers?
COS - page 39
![Page 24: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
Introduce Lesson and Evaluation
The introduction to the lesson is your chance to excite students about the activity.
Explain the process step-by-step.Distribute and review student materials.
COS- page 40
![Page 25: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
Share Student Work
Provide time for students to share their work with each other.
This will bring closure to the activity. It will give students a chance to see what
their classmates accomplished.
COS- page 40
![Page 26: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
Evaluate the Activity
When the activity is complete, evaluate the students’ final project based on the criteria that was established at the beginning of the activity.
You should also evaluate the activity as a whole. Did the technology add value? Would I implement the activity again?
COS- page 40
![Page 27: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)

An Example of a Technology Infused Lesson Plan
Follow along with your handouts.
![Page 28: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
What is the Purpose of this Activity?
State the overall purpose of the activity.
What is the purpose of this activity? As a culminating activity on Ancient China students will research Chinese inventions from ancient times and will explain how these inventions have impacted society both then and now. Students will practice their oral communication skills. Students will also write for different audiences and purposes.
![Page 29: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
Unit Organizer
The unit organizer is generally an open-ended question that frames the topic of investigation or study for the students.
Unit Organizer: How do people and inventions change society?
![Page 30: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
Essential Questions
Essential questions are those that narrow the unit organizer into more sequential, manageable, or teachable pieces.
Essential Question(s):How did new inventions influence the people of China during ancient times?Which Chinese invention has been most important to the development of civilization throughout the world?
![Page 31: Welcome to Click on Success! A Process for Creating Technology-Infused Classroom Activities.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032607/56649ebf5503460f94bca8dc/html5/thumbnails/31.jpg)
