CURRICULUM
Cambridge International curriculum is a creative curriculum starting
learners on an exciting educational journey, setting out what they should
be able to do at each stage of their primary education.
Typically for learners aged 5 to 11 years, it develops learner skills and
understanding through the primary years in English as a first or second
language, mathematics, science, Cambridge Global Perspectives and ICT.

The following workbooks will be used in Year 1.
Global English Cambridge Text books
Cambridge Maths and science Text books
Qatar History Text Books
Notebooks for different subjects
Handwriting books
Arabic Books
DAILY PROCEDURES
School begins with the National Anthem in the playground at 7.20am
If a child is late they must collect a late pass from reception and then proceed directly to class
The children will have two breaks in the day, one at 8-45-9-15 am the other at 10-45-11:15am
The children will eat their lunch during these two breaks (15mins of each break is to consume their lunch)
School will end at 1.30pm (1.25pm for bus children)

Purpose of Class Dojo
Wonderful tool (communication/ photos)
Need more understanding from parents
PHONICS PROGRAM
What are the phonics?
Importance of phonics in our curriculum
This will help them to improve in their reading
skills and efficiency
HOMEWORK SYSTEM
Homework days (Thursday – Tuesday)
Homework will consist of:
Spelling Words
1 English worksheet
1 Maths worksheet
2 Reading books
Education city (will start from 19th Sept)
In some instances the children will also be given projects to do for
science and other subjects.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
Not take up teaching time
Cupcakes would be better than a cake
Participating in birthdays
HEALTHY EATING
We encourage healthy eating at CIS.
Every parent should try to pack at least one healthy snack
daily. A treat from time to time is allowed but a daily intake
of unhealthy food is really not allowed.
Treat from teachers (Classdoo winner or start of the week
etc)
