Today we welcome Barnt Green to our home turf.

This pits me up against an opposing manager, GJ Singh, who is a close friend and has taught me valuable core values about football management; namely hard work!

No team of GJ’s will ever lie down and roll over so we will have to be on our game from the first minute until the last.

Last week against Christ The King we didn’t do that and subsequently were dumped out of a cup I was desperate to do well in, by lower level opposition who quite frankly showed more desire than us.

That was and never will be acceptable and the players know that. I have no other excuses than that particularly given that i really have a full quota of players to select from.

The last few weeks we have started to look more settled as a team; made the decision to move Josh Smith into the centre of midfield and he has been magnificent there in the games so far, bringing a calmness and vision that I thought we were lacking previously.

His replacement at right back, Jack Brighton, has also been outstanding and Max Crisp who made his debut two weeks ago is also settling in nicely.

I always believed that with the attacking options I have at my disposal we would have no problem with scoring goals; and a special mention to Louis Bridges who is already on 11 goals in 11 games and sits third on the league top scorers charts - not bad for an attacking midfielder.

Pav will soon be on his tail, I have no doubt about that and I should mention at this stage the contribution of our two wide players, Chris Bright and Lee Thomas who have been creating chances for fun!

Hopefully we bring all of that to todays game.
