SUNDAY SCHOOL IS COMING! Homecoming Sunday! Sunday, September 11- Registration & BBQ Sunday, September 18 - First Day of Sun- day School with Youth Fellowship for all our children- 10 AM Blessing of our refreshed classrooms after Church! Blessing of the Backpacks… As a way of marking the beginning of a new school year, and recognizing all of Good Shepherd’s stu- dents and teachers, Mother Susan will be doing a “Blessing of the Backpacks” on Sunday, September 18 th . Please make sure all the school age children bring their backpacks (or laptop computers or IPads) to church for this important opportunity to receive a blessing for the beginning of a new school year! Women at the Well The Women at the Well are hosng a “Get to Know Us” event on Monday, September 12 th at 7 PM in the Parish Hall. Please bring your meeng ideas, favorite wine/beverage and cheese/snack to share! RSVP on the Sign-up Sheet in the Parish hall. The Food Pantry We are trying a new approach for collecting dona- tions for the Pitman Food Pantry. Each week we will be collecting a different item. Next week, September 17th & 18th will be cereal. So, please bring in your donations of cereal on the 17th & 18th. All donations are greatly appreciated and accepted. Free Computer We are getting rid of our old Sunday School Office computer. We hope you feel welcome here and that you will come back often to feed your faith. Pitman – Glassboro CROP Hunger Walk (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) It's that time of year again. The air is crisp, the leaves are falling and CROP Walk is upon us. Sunday October 16th is the date. Hopeful- ly you will mark your calendar and join us for either a 1 mile or 5 mile walk in an effort to curb hunger. If you are unable to walk and would like to contribute to someone who is walking or to the Good Shepherd team that would be greatly appreciated too. If you Google on your computer or phone Pitman- Glassboro CROP Hunger Walk you can donate on line to either an individual or the team. It's an easy and quick way to contribute. Of course you can also always give a walker a check or cash. Let's set a goal of $3,000.00 this year and 27 walkers. Thank you in ad- vance for your participation. If you have any questions please contact Gail Morton or Con- nie Parent. P.S. The annual cookie sale that supports the Crop Walk is September 17th. If you are will- ing to bake your favorite cookies they would be most appreciated. They are to be in sand- wich bags of four each and it would be very helpful if you would let us know what they are. (Not in every bag, just once) They can be put in the screened in porch in the back of Connie’s house the evening of the 16th. Thanks again for your help. Bible Study
We are now looking at the Book of Acts. How did a rag-tag group of disciples become the Church? How did all of this get going? 7PM on Tuesday nights.
Inquirers’ Class
INQUIRER'S CLASS will meet on Sunday, June 5, following the morning service in the Conference Room. Our topic this month will be "Evil, Suffering & A Loving God." Mark your calendar for the next study of Up-pity Women of the Bible! We'll begin on Thursday, September 8 at 9:30 a.m. (following Morning Prayer). Our focus for this study will be the book of Judith. Watch for more details toward the end of summer.
