The visitors center, outdoor theater and entire live birds display area is accessible by a brick walk way.     Experience life on the farm! Learn about the gentle, curious and easy way to care for alpacas at Hidden Hilltop Alpaca Ranch. Hands-on time lets you pet the alpacas and visit the farm store to see products made from Alpaca fleece featuring alpaca garments, toys and accessories.

    Enhance your tour at Malabar Farm by enjoying the Romance That Became a Legend Tour. Humphrey Bogart, long time friend of Louis Bromfield, picked Malabar Farm for the site of his wedding to actress Lauren Bacall. Enjoy a guided tour of the historical home with highlights of the famous Hollywood couple’s wedding and honeymoon rooms complete with the wedding march played on the very same piano that was used for the ceremony. Wedding cake and beverage provided at the end of the tour.

    A tractor drawn hayride at Malabar Farm every Saturday in October will give you the “lay of the land” escorted by a park naturalist.

    The Historic Ohio State Reformatory is one of the biggest castle-like structures in the USA and one of the top 5 largest in the USA. The Reformatory houses the world’s tallest free-standing steel cell block (6 tiers; 12 ranges, 600 cells). Four major motion pictures have been filmed there–Shawshank Redemption, Air Force One, Tango & Cash and Harry & Walter Go to New York. After viewing the massive Reformatory with its large granite pillars and elegant construction, some have considered the Reformatory to be a grand architectural achievement, comprising 250,000+ square feet, and combining three architectural styles: Victorian Gothic, Richardsonian Romanesque, and Queen Anne.     Dine in one of the oldest homes in Mansfield (circa 1840), the Mansfield Women’s Club. Made from scratch entrees and desserts delight you while dining amongst ornate, historical beauty.

    When touring Oak Hill Cottage, you will be stepping into a whole other world with original hardwood floors, Victorian furniture and uniquely stained-glass windows. Built in 1847, it has seven gables, five double chimneys and seven marble fireplaces. Louis Bromfield, Mansfield’s Pulitzer Prize winning author, wrote about Oak Hill (Shane’s Castle) in his 1924 novel “The Green Bay Tree.”
