TO REVIEW ALL HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
At Paint Branch High School, we are committed to providing our students with the opportunity to participate in a high quality athletic program, knowing that their involvement in athletics will be an invaluable asset to their total educational experience.
Keeping in mind that athletes are students first, their academic standing will directly determine their participation in athletics. Thus, achievement in the classroom is an athlete’s first commitment to his/her team.
We recognize that the same hard work and dedication needed to be successful in competition is also required in the classroom. We also understand that balancing the demands and responsibilities needed to be a successful student-athlete is no simple task.

Athletic Academic Advisory
Purpose
• Student progress will be monitored online using school resources. Coaches will receive student progress reports every two weeks.. Any student who is receiving a D or lower in a class or has below a 2.0 gpa will be issued a follow up.
• The student-athlete must make an effort to improve the grade (i.e. going in for extra help, completing and submitting assignments, taking a reassessment, reviewing class notes or homework with the teacher or meeting with a tutor). Coaches may issue a Follow-up sheet to student-athletes who have fallen below the minimum.
• Study Hall will be available Monday-Thursday from 2:45-4:00. All 9th and 10th
graders are expected to attend when they have a late practice or game– 11th and 12th graders should go to media center or study hall– All students staying after school that have a later practice or contest must go to study hall or media center
