Big Biz Solutions - Basic Requirements

Inventory Tracking Tracking of all TDM and IP telephone appliance from which a 911 call can

originate, with definition of exact location. Location definition is dependant on the granularity selected by the customer. The location definition must equate the location of the telephone at the time of a 911 call.

Detection and Routing: The process by which a 911 is escalated to a PSAP (Public Service Answer Point

aka 911 Call Center). This process must exist for all telephone appliances in the network, capable of being utilized to reach a 911 PSAP Agent. The main mechanism for detection and routing is part of the telephone switch fabric, with capability to detect a 911 call and route it to the appropriate trunks.

PSAP Update Using NENA (Nat’l Emergency Number Association) standards provide update to

the PSAP so that the telephone location information is synchronized to the PSAP ALI database.
