WELCOMELETTER
irst Palmetto Bank is pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement to purchase
the Bethune branch location from Sandhills Bank. We are excited about welcoming you and
the talented employees of this branch to First Palmetto, and look forward to expanding upon
our three existing locations in Kershaw County.
As you may know, our bank was founded in 1904 in Camden, and we remain headquartered
there today. By focusing on customer relationships and serving the needs of our
communities for over a century, we have established ourselves as one of the oldest and
largest banks headquartered in South Carolina. We have grown to 22 branches across the
state, including several locations near Bethune (Kershaw – 17 miles; Bishopville – 15 miles;
Camden – 20 miles). We understand the customer has many options when placing trust with
a banking partner, and we emphasize individualized service to earn your business.
Beginning Friday, June 1st, the Bethune branch of Sandhills Bank will convert to First
Palmetto Bank, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth customer transition. The office
will reopen Monday, June 4th, as the newest First Palmetto Bank branch. Please review the
contents of this Welcome Guide for reference during this transition period, and be on the
lookout for any future correspondence from First Palmetto Bank. Until you receive further
communication from First Palmetto, please continue banking as you do today.
We look forward to meeting you, welcoming the employees of the Bethune branch to our
team, and serving your banking needs for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Samuel R. Small, Jr.

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your deposit account to cover a transaction. Overdrafts may be paid by
us in one of two different ways:
1. We have standard overdraft practices which are described below and come with all deposit accounts. 2. We offer an overdraft protection line of credit which is also described below.
1. Whatarethestandardoverdraft practicesthatcomewithallFirstPalmettodepositaccounts? As a standard overdraft practice, we will consider as a discretionary courtesy and not a right or obligation, approving your reasonable overdrafts. This means we do not guarantee we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined. We are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient available funds (an “NSF” item), and any discretionary payment (or other negotiation or processing) by First Palmetto Bank of any NSF Item does not obligate First Palmetto Bank to pay any additional NSF Item or to provide prior notice of its decision to refuse to pay any additional non‐sufficient fund check or item. Failure to repay any negative balance including any and all fees and charges may result in the closing of your deposit account. We may authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:
Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number Automatic bill payments
We do not authorize or pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:
ATM transactions Everyday debit card transactions
The fees charged by First Palmetto Bank for overdrafts are as follows:
We will charge you a fee of $34.00 per each time we pay or return an overdraft item. We will charge you a fee of $3.00 for each day your account maintains a negative balance.
2. WhatoverdraftprotectionplansareavailableatFirstPalmettoBank?
First Palmetto Bank offers an overdraft protection line of credit, which is a loan that may advance funds to cover overdrafts. If you are interested in applying for First Palmetto’s overdraft protection line of credit, please visit your local branch for further details. First Palmetto Bank will not offer Automated Overdraft Privilege for any deposit accounts transferring from Sandhills Bank. This means that Sandhills Bank deposit accounts transitioning to First Palmetto Bank that previously had Automated Overdraft Privilege will be subject to First Palmetto’s standard overdraft practices described above.
Overdraft protection lines of credit may be less expensive than standard overdraft practices. Please contact us if you have questions or require more information regarding the differences between Standard Overdraft Practices and Overdraft Protection Lines of Credit.
