2MNCCD 2018 HEALTH & WELLNESS CONFERENCE: For People with Disabilities 3 MNCCD 2018 HEALTH & WELLNESS CONFERENCE: For People with Disabilities
GREETINGS FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
At this year’s conference we will continue to focus on integrative practices that help improve the general health and wellbeing of people with disabilities. Our theme is INVEST IN YOUR HEALTH, with an emphasis on best practices. Did you know that sleep can affect weight more than diet? Or that reducing stress is more important than other factors in creating well-being? Again this year, we will have breakouts sessions on concrete ways to improve your health or that of the people you serve. Here are some highlights of the day:
Our keynote speaker will be Mathew Sanford. Mathew is a renowned speaker with an inspirational story. His talk is titled: Giving, Caring and Living Well.
Breakout session topics include: sleep, nutrition, acupuncture, feel good with food, the Ketogenic Diet, self-care, financial health, sexual health, attitude, yoga, cultural awareness and chiropractic care (again by none other than our own HHS Committee Chair, Senator Jim Abeler).
Lunch is again being catered by Simpl’s and will feature sandwiches, salad, and dessert. GF and vegetarian options will be available.
End of day networking will take place from 3:45–4:30p.m. with giveaways, a last chance to connect with vendors, health topic tables for networking, and a chance to review your day and any takeaways from the conference.
Certificates of Attendance for CEU’s are available at the registration table.
I want to thank our major sponsors; Pediatric Home Service, Allina Health, Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, and MN Department of Health, for their financial support.
Here’s to your health!

The expertly trained providers at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minnesota, help patients realize their full potential through advanced tech- nologies and intensive rehabilitation therapies. We’ve been celebrating everything our patients CAN achieve for over 120 years.
