MOVE & SHARE - ASSOCIATION

A student association made to share moments, discover new cultures and new people from all over the world. Our main objective is to make your year or semester abroad an experience full of emotions.

Throughout your stay at IGR-IAE Rennes, we will support and integrate you into the school’s life.

Many events will pace your daily life here in Brittany: whether they are cultural events: welcome week, cultural outings, trips, language workshops or professional ones: Resume workshop, International Trainee Day Mock Interview Day (c’est le nom que nous avons donné à l’évènement, à en discuter)... you won’t get bored.

We will help getting you acquainted with the French language and discovering our local culture. We will also assist all IGR-IAE students in discovering yours.

If you have any problems or any questions, do not hesitate to contact us: [email protected]. We will be pleased to answer your questions.

See you soon for a crazy year!

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU?

Our association was created especially for you! We are here to help you as soon as you need it: administrative procedures, various questions, internship search... So if you have a problem, don’t hesitate, contact us!

Leisure and cultural activitiesStudent Parties usually occur on Thursdays: each student association of IGR-IAE alternately organizes a party. Lots of other gatherings take place in Rennes with IGR-IAE where you can have fun and make new friends.

Trips: last year, Move and Share organized a trip to Saint-Malo and the Normandy region. We are planning to extend the offer for this kind of events format and organize several similar events throughout the year.

Learning pedagogical skills and sharing cultureExcuse my French! French conversation sessions for international students eager to improve their fluency and enlarge their vocabulary in the course of a simple and unpretentious class. On the agenda: speaking, exchanging, sharing anecdotes in a nice and friendly atmosphere. The point is not to learn pure conjugation, grammar or spelling but to talk about this and that, as long as it is in French.

Presentation of Brittany: the Global Brittany association will prepare a workshop for you so that you can discover the region where you will study and its specific features.

Professional help

French resume and cover letter workshopswe want to help you put yourself in the real conditions of an application for a job offer. French resume and cover letters are different from those in the USA or in the UK for instance. Plus, we can also help with everything related to language so that your application gives you the best chances of success.

Coaching and support in finding an internship in France, providing advice and helping with the interview preparation is something that we can do as well. Do not hesitate to come to us if you feel like you could use a hand while prepping for an important interview.

International Trainee DayIn partnership with other organizations in contact with companies, we will organize a career day in January, where we will invite companies from the Rennes area looking for international interns.

You are invited to all events organized by students’ associations. Each event is communicated on Facebook and on posters. You will find all upcoming events on your notice board. To know more about our associations, you may check the website: https://www.igr.univ-rennes1.fr/associations the website: https://www.igr.univ-rennes1.fr/associations

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

At IGR-IAE Rennes, students’ involvement in community projects is everywhere.

About twenty student associations gather around 300 students. Sportsmen, globetrotters, artists, big hearts or adventurers, students will set the tempo of your year

ORGANIZATION: community outreach at IGR-IAE Rennes has its proper organization. • the COPIL (steering committee): one teacher, one adminis-

trative officer, three students, in charge the general organi-zation and development of the association’s life.

• the BDE : 12 members. Also known as “students office”, the BDE was elected by students at the end of the last year to coordinate associations this year. Each year, they organize the biggest events such as the integration weekend, the Christmas party... They are also in charge of the “associative card” (for discounts), the grad class polo shirt sale, develop-ment of partnerships… You will soon hear from them.

Attending events organized by the associa-tions (usually two events per week such as games or parties…) is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and share new experiences

INTRODUCING RENNES

Rennes is the capital of the region of Brittany, as well as the Ille-et-Vilaine department.

Rennes’ history goes back more than 2,000 years, at a time when it was a small Gallic village named Condate. It was one of the major cities of the historic province of Brittany and the ancient Duchy of Brittany.

In 2017, the city is the tenth largest in France, with a metropolitan area of about 440,000 inhabitants. With almost 69,000 students in 2018-2019, it is also the eighth-largest university campus of France. Many articles selected Rennes as «the most pleasant city in France for studies».
