New Sixth Form Partnership From September 2013 Flint High School and St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School will be working in partnership to give our sixth form students a broad offering of A Level and BTEC subjects. The name of the new sixth form is ‘6’ and learners will benefit from an extensive curriculum with more than thirty subjects to choose from. As well as the increased subject options, students will also gain from the expertise and resources that two schools can offer whilst retaining the on-going support and guidance from their home base school. The new partnership will mean that each day sixth formers will have a lesson in their own school and simply walk between the schools according to where they are being taught.

New Sixth Form Partnership

From September 2013 Flint High School and St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School

will be working in partnership to give our sixth form students a broad offering of A

Level and BTEC subjects. The name of the new sixth form is ‘6’ and learners will

benefit from an extensive curriculum with more than thirty subjects to choose from.

As well as the increased subject options, students will also gain from the expertise

and resources that two schools can offer whilst retaining the on-going support and

guidance from their home base school. The new partnership will mean that each

day sixth formers will have a lesson in their own school and simply walk between the

schools according to where they are being taught.

New Year 12 students will be the first cohort to benefit from the collaboration. Pamela

McClean, Headteacher at Flint High says: “This is a positive move for all of our

students who stand to gain the best of both worlds and it is also good for the local

community. Here at Flint High we are planning a refurbishment of the sixth form area

during the summer, including wi-fi access, in readiness for the new students in

September. I look forward to ‘6’ becoming a successful initiative for all parties.”

Ron Keating, Headteacher at St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School commented:

“We are excited about this local collaboration knowing it makes sense to give all our

students the best possible sixth form education which will lead to success. Both

schools have a track record of outstanding results with staff who are well qualified at

getting the best outcomes for students.
