Advancement Requirements
• Must pass core subject coursework with a 70%.
• Pass STAAR Reading and Math• Summer School is ONLY available
for those students who do not pass STAAR.
Graduation Requirements & Credits
• Requirements are those classes that Willis ISD and the State of Texas need you to take in order to graduate from High School
• Credits are earned upon completion and passing of a required course
Each semester = .5 creditOne full year = 1.0 credits

English Language Arts
• 4 credits–English I–English II–English III–English IV

Social Studies Requirements• 4 credits

Course Selection• Course Selection sheets will be handed out during
your 6th period• If you have any changes, please mark off the class
you want to drop and write the class you want to add
• All sheets need to be returned signed to your 6th period teacher by May 10.
• You will get a final verification sheet with your end of the year report card.
Important
• If you do not turn in your course selection sheet signed and do not list an alternate course you will not be able to make any schedule changes.
• Schedules will be handed out at registration

• Can I have colored hair?– Unnatural hair color is not allowed
• Can I wear a cap in school– No, they will be taken up by administration
• Can I wear a nose ring?– Nose rings/studs, lip rings/studs, or any other
body-piercing jewelry other than earings are not allowed
