Math
Several of the activities in math are done in whole group, small group or with a partner. This is how I help in math:
• Students are introduced to a concept, or are given a problem; they practice it, or try to solve it; as a whole group we share solutions and what they were thinking.
• Integrating math into other subject areas to show the connections to real world (reading, science, etc…)
• Teach Games-to help reinforce the skills or concepts being taught
• Provide additional skills in “Calendar” or daily routines for skills not taught in their math book such as: counting by 2’s, 5’s, & 10’s, graphing, keeping track of what day it is, etc…

Ways You Can Help
• Discuss daily math homework
• Play games sent home frequently
• Discuss ways in which math is used in everyday life.
• Be positive about math. (Even if it was your most difficult subject).
